Savannah Guthrie's Best Style Moments

Mornings can be difficult, but Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie certainly makes them a bit more bearable. Clearly passionate about her work, Guthrie is known for her exclusive reports and hard-hitting interview style, interviewing notable people like Donald Trump, Gabby Giffords, and Selena Gomez

The charming news anchor has had quite the impressive career already. Before stepping into her co-anchor position at Today in 2012, Guthrie served as the White House correspondent for NBC News, as well as the network's chief legal correspondent.

She's as intelligent as she is effervescent, receiving the top score on the Arizona Bar Exam in 2002 and going on to graduate cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center, where she received her Juris Doctor. Talk about brains and beauty. Whether she's reporting breaking news or hosting Rockefeller Center's Christmas tree lighting, you can be sure she's doing it in style. Here are some of Guthrie's most memorable style moments.

Catwalking for a cause

The Heart Truth Community Action Program is an initiative founded to educate women on how to lower their risk for heart disease. During 2013's New York Fashion Week, Guthrie walked the runway while donning a beautiful number from The Heart Truth's 11th Red Dress collection.

She was all smiles as she confidently strutted down the catwalk in her floor-length, mermaid-style gown that perfectly showcased the news anchor's svelte figure. The off-shoulder cap sleeves added an extra touch of elegance, and the oversized pink and red bow on the back of the dress was a detail completely fitting of Guthrie's personal fun style.

In a backstage interview with The Heart Truth, Guthrie detailed how her own experiences with heart disease inspired her involvement with the foundation, saying, "This is a great cause, and it's one that's very dear to me. I had my father die of a heart attack when I was 16 years old, so it's something that really matters to me." Total heart eyes over here.

Girl gang for life

Guthrie is all about girl power. In 2017, she authored her first book with close friend Allison Oppenheim titled Princesses Wear Pants. According to Guthrie, she was inspired to write the book after witnessing her own daughter's affinity for "girly" books.

As she explained in an interview with InStyle, "Alli and [I] noticed how naturally our little girls were drawn to all things fancy, sparkly, and 'princess-y.' We wanted them to know that you can be a girly girl with real substance."

So it's no surprise that Guthrie is a total #girlgang supporter. In May 2017, she posted an adorable picture to Instagram featuring both her and her daughter in matching "Girl Gang" sweatshirts. Only a few weeks later, she posted another — this time featuring colleague Siri Daly and her toddlers wearing the same matching sweatshirts. Guthrie aptly captioned the photo, "The #girlgang expands." Cheers to statement sweatshirts and a growing girl gang!

Blue is the warmest color

In November 2017, Today host Matt Lauer was fired by NBC News after a female colleague lodged a complaint alleging sexual harassment from Lauer beginning at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and continuing upon return to Today's Rockefeller Center studio. The news came as a shock to most — even Guthrie, who was openly emotional when reporting the breaking news alongside Hoda Kotb.

Though she was "heartbroken" to see her "dear friend and partner" terminated, Guthrie was staunch in her support of his accuser, as well as other victims of sexual misconduct brought to light by the #MeToo movement, saying, "I am heartbroken for the brave colleague who came forward to tell her story, and any other women who have their own stories to tell."

Just a little over one month later, Guthrie was blue again — but this time, in style only! On January 2, 2018, Guthrie officially welcomed Hoda Kotb as her new partner and co-anchor, making history as the first pair of women to anchor Today. Guthrie's cheerfulness was palpable, and she looked as beautiful as ever in a sky blue, button-front dress from designer Michael Kors. Blue is definitely this gal's color!

Total golden girl glam

Hollywood's awards season is to fashion lovers what football season is to sportsball fans — the most wonderful time of the year. Along with the Academy Awards, the Golden Globe Awards ceremony is one of Hollywood's most notable nights for glitz and glam. Though Guthrie was technically at work covering red carpet arrivals and conducting interviews during the 2016 Golden Globe Awards, she looked every bit as gorgeously glamorous as any A-list Hollywood starlet.

Donning an elegant, golden gown with intricate lace and floral details, Guthrie could have easily passed for a golden statue, herself. The flowing high-low gown allowed for a peep at her metallic silver pointed-toe pumps, and she carried an off-white, geometric clutch.

Guthrie's nude, glossy lip and golden-orange smokey eye perfectly complemented the minimalistic essence of her gown. Of course, she also wore the million-dollar smile Today fans know and love her for. Get it, golden girl!

Gangnam gal chic

For most of us, dancing is an activity best done in the comfort of a club — where it's dark, and no one can see you make a fool of yourself. Leave it to this fashionable woman to never shy away from a good time.

Guthrie had no problem showing off her moves in front of the Today show audience during a 2013 visit with Psy — the visionary mind behind the hit song that will now almost certainly be stuck in your head for days, "Gangnam Style."

Guthrie sported a classic double-breasted, belted peacoat for the occasion, and it's hard to imagine a ridiculous dance she wouldn't look amazing doing in this little number. The fire engine red peacoat matched Guthrie's bold, red lip and added an eye-catching pop of color to the simple nude dress she wore underneath. You couldn't miss her if you tried — especially with those moves!

Pantsuit power

Successfully pulling off a pantsuit isn't an easy feat. Successfully pulling off an all white pantsuit is even more difficult. However, as you well know by now, Guthrie is woman who is fearless in the face of fashion.

She donned this all-white ensemble while hosting the 2015 Billboard Women in Music Awards with former Today show host, Tamron Hall. The awards ceremony, which aired on Lifetime, honored a close colleague of both Guthrie and Hall – Today's music booking producer, Brittany Schreiber. Classy as ever, Guthrie radiated confidence throughout the evening — proving again that women can be both pretty and powerful.

Interestingly enough, Guthrie rocked this white pantsuit almost an entire year before "Pantsuit Nation," the viral Facebook group inspired by former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, came into existence. We're not saying Guthrie looks better in a pantsuit than Hillary Clinton, all we're saying is that she totally has the presidential look down.

Kickin' it with her kiddo on set

Yet another color in which Guthrie just so happens to look incredible is the one that is most fitting of her bright and sunny disposition — yellow! Guthrie looked absolutely adorable in this bright yellow, summertime-chic A-line dress she wore to set in July 2017. In fact, the only person who out-did Guthrie in the adorableness department was her daughter, Vale.

Possibly the coolest mom ever, Guthrie brought Vale along with her to work — even allowing the tot to co-host a segment! Just like her mom, Vale was all smiles as she chatted up a storm on-air, happily entertaining both the hosts and the audience.

The mother/daughter pair looked like they were having the time of their lives as they took to the streets to dance in front of a cheering crowd — Guthrie in her yellow dress, and Vale in a bubblegum pink, hot air balloon ensemble. Like Guthrie said, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree."

Nothing can eclipse good style

There's no doubt that Guthrie is a woman who knows how to dress for any occasion — morning talk shows, red carpets, and even astronomical events!

On August 21, 2017, the contiguous United States experienced what was nicknamed by many "The Great American Eclipse." Americans across the country spent days, weeks, even months preparing for the first total solar eclipse visible from coast to coast of the United States since 1918. Unfortunately, the coolest astronomical event to happen in nearly a century happened to fall on a Monday, meaning many Americans had to work — including Guthrie.

Of course, the spunky news anchor didn't let the Monday blues keep her down. Instead, she wore them to work! Guthrie shared a photo of herself to Instagram in which she's donning a sky blue dress covered in fluffy, white clouds, captioned, "Look for the day: 'celestial casual' #eclipse2017." Clever girl.

It's all in the details

The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon is known for its array of hilarious games and famous guests, but rarely do those guests come in pairs. However, Guthrie and Kotb are now a team (Carson Daly refers to them as Today's "dynamic duo") so you can rest assured that where you see one, you'll most likely see the other.

The charming chemistry between these ladies is undeniable, as evidenced by their appearance on The Tonight Show. The pair handled Fallon's difficult questions about the disgraced Lauer with confidence and dignity — and style, of course.

Kotb looked simply regal in a white, one-shoulder jumpsuit and gold statement earrings. Guthrie acted as Kotb's fashion foil, opting for a high neck, black jumpsuit with contrasting sheer sleeves — one featuring polka dots, the other featuring intricate lace detailing. As always, both Guthrie and Kotb were sporting their signature smiles. Whether on Today or Tonight — these two make quite the pair.

Cutting up with the cutest cut out

Before the journalist was promoted to co-anchor on Today, Guthrie served as the White House correspondent for NBC News from 2008 to 2011, so she likely felt right at home while attending the White House Correspondents' Dinner in 2016.

The anchor donned a little black dress that was both elegant and edgy — the criss-cross neckline and peek-a-boo cut out showing more skin than is the norm for the gorgeous Guthrie. Since her dress made quite the statement itself, Guthrie opted for simplistic yellow gold jewelry accents.

There's no doubt Guthrie had a belly laugh or two at the Correspondents' Dinner, an event known for hosting (and roasting) notable members of the news media. Traditionally, the POTUS delivers a monologue poking gentle fun at journalists in attendance. At 2016's White House Correspondents' Dinner, Guthrie received a special shoutout in President Obama's speech — the last of his presidential tenure.
