Amal Clooney's Stunning Pregnancy Style
After Beyoncé announced her pregnancy with twins at the beginning of February, it was hard to picture any other announcement could be just as exciting. But then came along George and Amal Clooney. It was reported that the fabulous couple was also expecting twins, and all was right with the world.
A much more surprising announcement, as we weren't sure the day would come that George Clooney would be a father (a day we are very-much-so looking forward to, by the way). But another reason we are excited has to do with Amal. A force-of-nature in general, Amal is smart and beautiful, and the woman knows fashion.
So when it comes to her pregnancy, it's exciting to see just what choices she makes. We've already been given a sneak peek the last couple of months, so let's take a closer look at the fabulous Amal Clooney and her equally-amazing pregnancy picks.
Making casual the new classy
Amal has perfected her style when it comes to work and the red carpet moments, but what about her casual look? Shockingly (just kidding), she has that down too. At the time of this photo, there hadn't been an announcement about Amal's pregnancy, so her clothing choices may have been purposely picked to cover her up a bit more. And an excellent way to do that is with layers.
As POPSUGAR described, this was Amal's look at the airport. She rocked an Alberta Ferretti sweater, and styled it with a trench coat, elevating the look even more. Amal always looks like she is ready to walk on the runway but seems so comfortable at the same time. Basically she can do no wrong.
She's more glamourous than ever
With such huge news about the twins, we all awaited anxiously to see just what the fierce Amal would wear to her first red carpet event since the news came out. And considering she looks fabulous just walking down the street in her casual clothes, it should come as no surprise that her choice for the red carpet would be amazing.
Amal and George were spotted at the 2017 César Awards in February. As reported by E! News, Amal was gorgeous in custom Atelier Versace. The look had enough character to keep up with her other unique choices in the past, but was also simple enough that we could see the baby bump.
Bringing on the Jackie O style
Amal can do no wrong when it comes to fashion, so when she wears a dress inspired by a fashion icon, it's a home run. Lately, she has taken more to shift dresses, and has consistently pulled off each look. This yellow shift dress by Bottega Veneta is professional and perfect for the mom-to-be. Vogue reported on the 60s vibe and the close comparisons to the styles of the one and only Jackie Kennedy.
And while her fashion made a statement that day, so did her words. Amal was headed to the United Nations that day in March to discuss the Islamic State's violence against the Yazidi people in Iraq. The Washington Post reported on the fact that press focused more on Amal's looks, pregnancy, and husband than on her powerful words.
The article stated, "Some of the baby-bump hoopla made it seem as though the lawyer was gallivanting on a beach in a bathing suit, 'showing off' her pregnant belly, or posing for a photographer in a Beyoncé-esque, flower-adorned pregnancy announcement, resting her hand on her bare stomach. Those watching her speech would have hardly noticed her barely visible bump, unless, of course, they were specifically looking for it."
Her working woman wardrobe
After giving her amazing speech at the United Nations, Amal made an appearance at the U.N. Headquarters in New York City for another meeting, as reported by People. The mom-to-be kept it professional, per usual.
With the ruching and floral detail, the dress could be fun while at the same time perfect for this lawyer's busy schedule. And with those specific and noticeable details on the dress, it was perfect to keep it a neutral color, like navy.
It still makes a statement, but doesn't overshadow anything or anyone. Amal went to the U.N. for a meeting, not to show off her wardrobe. This was the perfect dress. And Amal is perfect. So it all makes sense.
A pop of color is key
This spring, Amal has continued her busy schedule with a trip to London to the Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs. But even with such a busy schedule, she always has her style down and looks ready to take on the world. So what did we learn from Amal with this look?

George recently shared with Extra (via People) just how wonderful his wife is. He said during the interview, "She is doing really great . . . She is amazing. I don't have anything to do. There is nothing I can do to help, but make tea and stuff."
Adding prints to the mix
The shift dress wins again! Amal wore this adorable Dolce & Gabbana dress to an event for the Clooney Foundation for Justice, as shared by E! News. At the time, the couple still had not shared their good news, and for that reason, Amal's dress choice made perfect sense.
The shift was not form-hugging, so it wouldn't have been too easy to spot a bump. Plus, she added the print, which is not only beautiful but makes it even harder to tell if she looked any differently. It also doesn't hurt that this look is tied together perfectly with the tights and boots, making us all want to steal Amal's look yet again.
It's all about the accessories
Amal is a pro when it comes to the accessories for her outfits. Going with the classic shift dress look, she added the matching jacket to create geometric perfection. Then with the black boots and tote bag, she could take on the world.
The look is elegant but also looks comfortable; the ultimate goal for a pregnant woman on-the-go. According to Vogue, this look is from designer William Vintage. And what was Mrs. Clooney doing the day she wore this fabulous outfit? Oh, just strolling the streets of Paris with her husband. So casual.
Pretty in pink
Amal would look lovely in anything, so it's no shocker that she pulled off this positively pink outfit. Bringing in the springtime season, the mom-to-be wore this look in March 2017 in New York City. As reported by InStyle, Amal rocked the velvet, print dress along with a Bottega Veneta overcoat. And to finish it off, she hit the streets of Manhattan in black pumps, taking the entire outfit to a whole new level.
Staying stylish on a stroll
With a busy career and event-filled calendar, it makes sense that some getaways would be much-needed. In April 2017, Amal was spotted with her husband as the two went on a walk. Looking at Amal, her baby bump is barely noticeable. In fact, she's wearing an outfit that any woman would want to wear.
As InStyle shared, Amal's outfit was casual and fabulous all at the same time. Pairing skinny jeans with a green bomber jacket, Amal looked comfortable enough for a walk but still kept her natural class. She paired these with a scarf and some amazing sneakers, showing the world that it's possible to attain ultimate pregnancy comfort, while also looking classy.
She has mastered the overcoat look
Amal and Clooney seem totally ready for their twins to arrive; at least Matt Damon seems to think so. The actor spoke with Entertainment Tonight (via Vanity Fair) in March 2017 about the expecting couple and how he thought they would do when the babies finally arrive. Damon said, "He's [Clooney] going to get prepared... He better figure it out, 'cause they're on the way. But he'll be great. He'll be a mess, but [Amal] will take care of everything."
And while waiting for the babies' due date, Amal has something else under control: her maternity style. This isn't the first time this wonderful woman has shown us she can pull off a bold overcoat to finish a look. While in Paris in February 2017, Amal wore this printed dress, according to TODAY. She mix-matched patterns with the overcoat, and topped off the look with her tall, black boots. Yet again, Amal looks elegant but completely comfortable at the same time. She's a pro.
The ultimate working woman
As has been seen time and time again, Amal has stayed focused on her work and continues to make a difference. She discussed her career in an interview with BBC News at Six (via Vanity Fair) in March 2017 and spoke specifically to the intense fame she has experienced since marrying Clooney. As always, Amal kept it cool and classy. She said during the interview, "I don't really see myself in the same way [as charitable celebrities like Angelina Jolie] because I'm still doing the same job that I used to do before... So if there's more attention paid, for whatever reason, to that, then I think that's good."

So what can we expect next from Amal? It's safe to say, no matter what, it will be fabulous. She continues to work non-stop, and we have no doubt there will be more speeches and meetings to come in the next few months.
Style-wise, we'll have to wait and see what new looks Amal comes up with as her due date draws nearer. And as for the couple together, it sounds like all is smooth-sailing. As George shared with Rencontres de Cinema (via E! Online), he and Amal are ready for what's next. He said, "We are really happy and really excited. It's going to be an adventure . . . We've sort of embraced it all . . . with arms wide open."
