1,000-Lb Sisters Star Amy Slaton Haltermann Shares Sad News

It's been a busy year for "1,000 Lbs. Sisters" star Amy Slaton Haltermann. Not only has she been caring for her toddler Gage, she's been preparing for the arrival of his little brother. Amy and her husband Michael announced in January that they were expecting a baby boy, due on July 18, according to InTouch. They've also reportedly bought a house in their home state of Kentucky, not far from Amy's sister Tammy.

But it hasn't all been good news for the Haltermanns. Sadly, they lost a beloved family member this week — pet dog Little Bit. Amy shared the bad news in an Instagram post, writing, "Rip little bit. I love you so much. 2000-2022." Amy explained in the comments that she had taken Little Bit to the vet a few days before, where the dog was diagnosed with lung cancer.

Little Bit was Amy's close companion, and frequently appeared on "1,000 Lbs. Sisters."

Amy Slaton Haltermann's son misses their dog, too

Fans were quick to share comforting words for Amy Slaton Haltermann in the comments of her Instagram post. "The fact that even at 22 years she was so full of energy shows how much you all loved and cared about her," one wrote. "She definitely lived a long loving life that you gave to her and now she'll be your guardian angel for always! Sorry for your loss," another added.

Of course, Amy wasn't the only person in the family to miss their beloved pet. The TLC star took to Twitter to share some details about how her son Gage tried to comfort Little Bit during her last days. "Few days before we lost little (sic). Gage tried to share his milk with her. Because i tell him milk make u big and strong," Amy wrote.

After Little Bit died, Gage was heartbroken. Amy shared that he stayed up crying until 4 a.m. Thankfully, the family has each other for comfort as they grieve their loss.
