  • From the Backstreet Boys and Stephen Sondheim to "Ghostbusters" and the "Lord of the Rings," Dianne grew up unabashedly loving all things pop and nerd culture (and therefore rejects the notion of a guilty pleasure).
  • She previously co-hosted the pop culture-focused comedy podcast "Sorry, Just Saw This," which weighed in on everything from Taylor Swift and Ben Platt to Netflix stand-up specials and the MCU to awards show season controversies and TV show cancellations.
  • Dianne has co-written the Throuple or Nothing Productions comedy screenplays "Two Anxious Bisexuals" — which won the audience choice award at the Cannes Short Film Festival, best short script at Film Invasion LA, and others — and "A Very Queer Holiday," which was awarded at the LGBTQ Unbordered International Film Festival, the Vienna Film Festival, and more.

Experience

Pairing her passion for pop culture with a background in pursuing scholarly musicological research (she once analyzed Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" and argued how Weezer's "Pinkerton" could be considered Avant Garde, among other things), Dianne eventually switched gears from academia to focus on more mainstream writing and editing. She has over a decade's worth of experience as a freelance writer, proofreader, and editor, previously working for various other companies like ZHISHIQ.com and outlets like Blasting News and the now-defunct NY Theatre Guide. Dianne has been with Nicki Swift since late 2016, having worked as a features and news writer before joining the features editing team in 2019.

Education

After studying music and music history at CUNY Hunter College, Dianne earned her master's degree in musicology at King's College London in 2015, before changing career paths by channeling the knowledge and skills acquired in interdisciplinary academic research into writing on a broader scale on pop culture.
