Who Is Camilla Parker Bowles' Son?

With the death of Queen Elizabeth II, all eyes are on King Charles III and his family, including wife Camilla Parker Bowles, who is now queen consort. And, while sources have said that her two children — Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes — will not be receiving titles or security, it would make sense that the siblings will now find themselves in the spotlight.

"Tom and Laura will attend their mother's coronation, and inevitably there will be media scrutiny returning to them at that point. They must be aware of it, Camilla will be aware of it," said Joe Little, managing editor of Majesty magazine, per Page Six

Tom does have some notoriety due to his career as an award-winning food critic and writer. According to The Famous People, he has written seven cookbooks, winning the Guild of Food Writers in 2010 for "Full English: A Journey Through the British and Their Food."

Tom has also written food reviews for UK publications including The Mail on Sunday and GQ, and he was the food editor for Esquire. In addition, he has served as a judge on reality shows such as "Food Glorious Food" and "The Hot Plate."

"I love food, I love the food world, I love chefs and, genuinely, there's not a moment when you don't think you're lucky to be travelling around the world and stuffing your face," Tom told Post Magazine. "For me, food is not a hobby, it's everything. Food is health, wealth, happiness, history."

Tom Parker Bowles has suffered heartbreak

Tom Parker Bowles — the elder child of Camilla Parker Bowles, queen consort — married fashion editor Sara Buys in 2005 at St. Nicholas Church Near Henley On Thames. It was attended by his entire family, including stepbrothers Prince William, Prince of Wales, and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, per Hola!

Tom and Sara went on to have two children: daughter Lola, born in October 2007, and son Freddy, born in February 2010, per Town & Country. Unfortunately, the couple split in 2018. However, the pair have not legally divorced and even attended Harry's wedding to Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, together, per Express

Tom eventually moved on, though, dating journalist Alice Procope for two years until the mother of three passed away from cancer in 2021 at the age of 42 — just seven months after her diagnosis, which had been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, per The U.S. Sun. "Tom had been blissfully happy with Alice and is devastated that life can be so cruel," a friend told Daily Mail.

And, while Tom and Sara remained separated, their focus is on their children. "The concern of both Tom and Sara is for the stability and happiness of their children," a source told Express.

He is close to his mother and stepfather

Tom Parker Bowles is close to his mother, Camilla Parker Bowles, queen consort, calling her "a great role model for all of us" in an interview with Fox News. He also shares a special bond with his stepfather, King Charles III, who is also his godfather.

"I've always adored my stepfather; he's always been a kind and good and lovely man," Tom told "A Current Affair" in 2015, adding that "he is a man of warmth, intelligence and humanity."

In fact, when Tom was getting into trouble as a young man, Charles talked him into getting his act together (via Page Six). "I was naughty, partied a bit hard. When I was younger, I got sacked all the time," Tom told the Australian Daily Telegraph in 2017.

Tom and his sister, Laura Lopes, also enjoy a friendly relationship with their stepbrothers, Prince William and Prince Harry. "They've got very busy lives so our paths tend to cross occasionally if I'm visiting my mum at Clarence House," Tom told The Telegraph in 2012. "[The Duchess of Cambridge] Kate is lovely; she has impeccable manners and is sweet and graceful — everything we could hope for in a princess."
