With the pandemic increasing the popularity of at-home workouts and the start of a new year jumpstarting fitness routines, it is time to cover the exercise equipment you need in your life.

According to Statista, the top New Year's resolutions include getting more exercise, losing weight, and getting healthier, in general, in 2022. Therefore, retailers like Amazon are seeing an increase in the sale of workout-related items. In particular, people are purchasing adjustable weight sets, jump ropes, resistance bands, and under-the-desk machines, which allow workouts to be done from the ease of your home or office (via Yahoo). These items also don't take up too much extra space, work out multiple parts of the body, and lead to savings, since you don't have to have a gym membership.

That being said, here are seven fitness products to add to your home gym and your fitness routine.

These machines allow you to work out while working

First up are some of the machines mentioned above that fit under your desk and can be used while you work, such as this under-desk elliptical and the DeskCycle. Both products, recommended by Self Magazine, allow you to work out while sitting and are miniature, meaning they take up only a fraction of the space of a regular elliptical machine or stationary bike. Plus, they are sold on Amazon for $249 and $189, respectively, with free delivery and returns.

Resistance bands are super versatile

Self Magazine also suggests resistance bands, with the magazine's former fitness editor saying, "If you only ever purchase one piece of exercise equipment in your life, it should be a pack of resistance bands." Specifically, the Fit Simplify Resistance Loop Exercise Bands come with a variety of colors and levels of resistance. They can be used for curls, hip abductions, an overhead press, a lateral walk, and more, as well as by beginners and seasoned athletes who are at home or on the go.

Sliders can be used at home, while on the go, or in the office

Another versatile piece of equipment, this one pointed out by Health, would be sliders. With these, you can do everything from side lunges and mountain climbers to plank jacks, all while improving flexibility and strength. This set from Amazon provides a non-slip grip, can be clipped together for bilateral training, and is made out of a material that smoothly slides smoothly on any and all surfaces. Once again, this is something that can be easily stored and used at home, while traveling, or in the office.

With a TRX, you can work every part of your body

If you haven't done a TRX workout, you are missing out. The TRX Home2 System, also mentioned by Health, features a carabiner that can support up to 700 pounds and locking loops, allowing you to hang it over a door, from a tree, in the gym, and beyond. The portable suspension trainer weighs less than a pound and can be set up in under a minute. After that, you can get in full-body workouts, especially since this version comes with access to the TRX Training Club app.

Enhance your ab workouts with an ab wheel

For abs, you can do good old-fashioned sit-ups, or you can use an ab wheel. BuzzFeed suggests the Bssay Ab Roller, which is wide and made from stainless steel, so it won't wobble while holding up to 600 pounds. With this tiny but mighty piece of equipment (that can easily be stored under your bed or thrown into your luggage), the abs, hip flexors, shoulders, and back are worked and strengthened. Oh, and it's only $21 on Amazon, with free shipping and returns.

A jump rope allows for quick and effective exercise

A great way to get cardio in is with a jump rope, and this one, which was suggested by BuzzFeed, has a digital counter, with a timer, your weight, the number of calories burned, and a count of how many circles you've jumped. According to Prevention, jumping rope gets that heart rate up quickly, improves coordination and agility, and is yet another piece of fitness gear that allows you to exercise anywhere and at any time.

Adjustable weight sets are great for at-home fitness

Finally, there are adjustable dumbbell sets. So, instead of purchasing and making room for a rack that holds numerous dumbbells, you can get one that adjusts to different weights. For instance, BuzzFeed points out Deliny's, which is available in different size varieties and colors. You can hold them while doing lower-body moves, such as squats and lunges. You can put one between your feet while doing leg raises, in order to target abdominal muscles. And you can get in a variety of upper-body movements like rows and tricep kickbacks.
