Dr. Fauci Reveals What He'll Do If Donald Trump Wins In 2024

During the height of the Coronavirus pandemic, when Donald Trump was president and the country was still in various stages of lockdown, the then-president and his administration often butted heads with Doctor Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert, where it came to the best course of action to take to quell the spread of the virus while keeping the country running (via The New York Times). For instance, in July of 2020, Fauci was still urging immense caution while the presidential administration was pushing to open American back up with as much normalcy as possible.

"Dr. Fauci is not 100 percent right, and he also doesn't necessarily — and he admits that — have the whole national interest in mind," said Adm. Brett P. Giroir, a member of Trump's Health and Human Services team, in July 2020. In other words, while Fauci was focused specifically on the public health aspect of managing the pandemic, the Trump Administration felt they were incorporating concerns about the economy and other factors of national stability.

The friction between Fauci and Trump continued throughout the rest of Trump's presidency, so when Fauci was asked last night what he would do if Trump were to take the Oval Office again in 2024, few were likely surprised by his answer.

What Fauci said about his future if Trump wins

When Dr. Anthony Fauci was asked by CNN this past Sunday whether he would remain in his current position as Chief Medical Adviser at the White house should Donald Trump win the 2024 election, the infectious disease expert laughed and then said, simply, "no" (via Fox News). He elaborated on his answer by saying, "If you look at the history of what the response was during the administration, I think, you know, at best, you can say it wasn't optimal."

He went on to reference the strife and friction that occurred between himself and the Trump Administration without giving specific examples, saying simply, "And I think just, history will speak for itself about that."

While Donald Trump has not officially announced whether or not he will run for the presidency again in 2024, he has dropped hints that it may be something he is considering, and many of his supporters are hopeful he will choose to do so (via The Washington Post).
