In 2017, Barron Trump, the then-11-year-old son of President Donald Trump
and his third wife, Melania Trump, was deeply disturbed by a photograph posted by comedian Kathy Griffin.
The now-infamous anti-Donald Trump photo, posted by Griffin on X, formerly Twitter, depicts the comedian holding a bloody replica of the former president's decapitated head.
Barron, who was watching television with Melania at the time, became immediately distraught upon seeing the image, fearing that something had actually happened
to his father.
"Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself," the former president posted on X in response. "My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this."
The former first lady also released a statement: "As a mother, a wife, and a human being, that photo is very disturbing." She also questioned Griffin's
mental health.
Griffin initially apologized for the photo, acknowledging that she had crossed a line. However, she later recanted her apology and reshared
the photo during the
2020 election.
