Ivana Trump, the first wife of Donald Trump, has died at age 73. On Thursday, July 14, paramedics were called to Ivana's apartment in Manhattan, where they found her experiencing cardiac arrest; she was a best-selling author and businesswoman who remained in the spotlight long after her divorce from Donald in 1992.
On his social media platform Truth Social, Donald commented on Ivana's passing, writing, "I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City. She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life."
Ivana's son Eric Trump also called his mother "a survivor," remembering her immigration to the U.S. after fleeing communism, and her family celebrates her "grit and toughness, compassion and determination" that she passed on to her loved ones. Despite their amicability, Ivana and Donald still had a few dramatic moments post-divorce.
Ivana wrote in her book "Raising Trump" about her former husband's affair with his second wife, Marla Maples; Donald also slammed Ivana for her cameo in "The First Wives Club," a film about divorced women seeking revenge against men who replaced them with younger models. Ivana also used to insist that she was the real First Lady, sparking drama with Donald's current wife Melania.
