Elon Musk Finally Makes A Decision About Donald Trump's Twitter Ban

In the wake of the riots on the nation's Capitol on January 6, 2021, Twitter banned then-President Donald Trump from its platform, claiming he had used Twitter to help incite the violence. While many applauded the decision, others were angered and questioned if Twitter had violated the First Amendment.
When news broke that self-proclaimed free speech advocate Elon Musk had purchased Twitter, many speculated about whether or not he would lift Trump's ban. Musk finally spoke out at a May 10, 2022 event hosted by the Financial Times, beginning with, "I do think it was not correct to ban Donald Trump. I think that was a mistake".
"[The ban] alienated a large part of the country and did not ultimately result in Donald Trump not having a voice," Musk continued. Musk, who is buying Twitter for $44 Million, says he plans to support free speech on the platform; whether or not that means Trump will return is unknown, and Donald himself has yet to comment.
