How Colleen Carlton Really Died On The Young And The Restless

The "Young and the Restless" character Colleen Carlton is the daughter of Brad Carlton (Don Diamont) and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland). Actors Lyndsy Fonseca and Adrianne León previously played Colleen until Tammin Sursok took over in 2007 and continued in the role until Colleen's death in 2009.
Colleen's father drowned, and Colleen took his place on the board of Newman Enterprises, much to the displeasure of Victor (Eric Braeden). However, Colleen was quickly removed from the Newman board when Victor arranged for her to be humiliated by recording her drunkenly displaying her breasts at a bar and leaking it to the public.
Colleen then took off to the Abbott family cabin to lick her wounds and inadvertently ran into Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk), the mentally ill ex-wife of Colleen's uncle Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), being held hostage there. After freeing Patty from her restraints, Colleen was held at gunpoint and ended up tied to a tree by Patty.
Colleen eventually broke free, and she and Patty fought over the gun until Patty had a terrible reaction to a spider bite, at which point Colleen persuaded her to let her go get help. Colleen set off in a canoe, but she soon fell out, got a head injury, and drowned in the same lake as her father; Colleen was rushed to the hospital but was tragically declared brain dead.
