Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) has been a key player on "The Young and the Restless" for decades. At the heart of Jack's character, he is a family man, being the father of three sons, Keemo (Philip Moon), John Abbott III, and Kyle (Michael Mealor).
While serving in Vietnam, Jack fathered a child named Keemo, but he was completely unaware of his existence until he returned as an adult in the 1990s. Unfortunately for Jack, he would not have the relationship with his long-lost son he had hoped for, as Jack discovered after a cat-and-mouse game of letters that Keemo had died of a heart attack.
John Abbott III, Jack's second son with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), died shortly after his birth, and unlike Jack's other two boys, John Abbott III did not appear on the soap and was instead depicted by a doll rather than a real actor. Although the character didn't last long, it contributed to the arc of Jack's legendary run on "Y&R."
Kyle, Jack's third son, has been a regular on "The Young and the Restless" for several years, with his relationship with Summer Newman having major plot points in several episodes. Kyle and Jack have a difficult relationship because of Kyle's tendency to break the rules and his desire to succeed his father as CEO of Jabot Cosmetics.
