"Days of Our Lives," the over-55-year-old soap opera, has had amazing moments, fan-favorite characters, epic romances, and jaw-dropping shockers. Some iconic characters have had unexpected departures, including Bo Brady (Peter Reckel) and Lexie Carver (Renee Jones), leading fans to wonder what the stars are up to today.
Fans were devastated when Bo Brady died in the arms of his wife, Hope (Kristian Alfonso), and Peter Reckell exited the show permanently in 2015. Reckell wished to spend more time with his family, particularly his daughter, Loden, saying, "I just wanna enjoy this time with my daughter before she's off and running with her own life."
Renee Jones, who portrayed Lexie Carver, left in 2012 after breaking the record for the longest-running female African-American character on the show. Jones confessed that acting no longer offered her joy, and that she wanted to return to "silence," "solitude," and "enjoying nature, experiencing God."
