Queen Elizabeth II passed away with her eldest two children, King Charles III and Anne, Princess Royal, by her side the whole time. Princess Anne accompanied the queen's coffin multiple times, including from Balmoral to London, and also became the first female royal to take part in the Vigil of the Princes.

Now, the British public is asking King Charles to honor his sister for her dedication to the queen. In a poll by the Express, 98% of readers said Anne should be given a "special honor," with one reader commenting that Anne should "be made a Counsellor [sic] of the Realm," but another saying that she would be too humble to accept a new title.

A former royal aide also told The Telegraph that they didn't "think there will be any change in [Anne's] status or titles and she's never indicated that she wants to slow down." It remains to be seen if Charles will bestow anything upon his sister, but Anne and Queen Elizabeth undoubtedly shared a special bond that transcends death.

In a statement, Anne wrote that she was "fortunate" to" share the last 24 hours of my dearest Mother's life," adding that "It has been an honor and a privilege to accompany her on her final journeys." Anne was protective of her mother in the queen's later years, and the two shared a love for animals and a staunch dedication to their royal duties.
