While royals are not entirely forbidden from wearing jeans, Prince William's yoga-inspired stretches left some people perplexed. According to etiquette expert Diana Mather, who further explained to the BBC that "many places will not allow jeans as they are still seen as very casual wear," both royal men and women must be careful about wearing jeans in public.
Flower Necklaces
The media portrayed Prince William and Princess Catherine favorably both during and after their 2016 visit to India, although one outfit drew criticism. While some people enjoyed the couple's decision to wear flowers around their necks while playing soccer with kids, others criticized the choice of clothing the Prince of Wales chose, claiming it was insensitive.

Prince William's royal parade outfit highlighted the controversial nature of the monarchy's role in the Caribbean's past and present during his 2022 tour. Clad in a white military jacket lined with medals and a blue sash, the Prince of Wales seemed out-of-touch in light of growing discussions about systemic racism perpetuated by colonialism.
