Throughout the "The Big Bang Theory's" run from 2006 to 2019, Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco played on-again, off-again TV couple Leonard and Penny. Galecki shared a cute before and after photo on Instagram for the series finale, saying, "What a difference 12 years of fake marriage makes. [heart] you, Mooks."
Galecki and Cuoco had a two-year-long covert relationship that ended in December 2009. A desire to safeguard the show motivated their decision to keep their relationship hidden, although it may have led to their breakup, with Cuoco remarking, "It was such a huge part of my life, and no one knew about it."
Despite their breakup during the peak of "The Big Bang Theory," the two stars remained close friends, with Galecki saying "She's not an ex, she's a part of my life." Cuoco expressed her agreement, adding, "it was a mutual breakup, [...] and we're closer than ever now. It could have gone either way, and I was really proud of us."
In July 2018, Kaley Cuoco married Karl Cook, and Galecki was there to support her, "Couldn't be happier for my fake wife @normancook and @mrtankcook." Cuoco is also happy for Galecki's growing family, which includes partner Alaina Meyer and young son, saying, "[Johnny] sends me pictures constantly. He's very proud. It's really, really sweet."
