Former vice president Mike Pence has kept a low-key presence since the end of the Trump administration, but his career isn't entirely dormant. Aside from speaking at events and working with conservative think tank the Heritage Foundation, Pence has announced a new project he’s working on, and Twitter has a lot to say about it.
Pence did not leave the White House on a high note; during the January 6 Capitol riots, insurrectionists called for Pence's head, believing he was a traitor to president Donald Trump. However, Pence has notably not taken the stand during the ongoing Congressional hearings about the riots, and instead, is writing a book called "So Help Me God."
Pence tweeted about the book, “It is my story of faith and public service for the country I love so much!” Twitter users were not amused, with one writing, "Testify, Mike. You got your 7-figure book deal. You owe the nation." Another added that they'd rather buy Michelle Obama's upcoming book, which is due to release on the same date as Pence's.
