The Heartbreaking Death Of Gilbert Gottfried

In early 2022, Gilbert Gottfried tweeted a photo of himself with two late comedians, Bob Saget and Louie Anderson, and commented how much he would miss his good friends. The sad irony is that — as of April 12, 2022 — fans worldwide will now also miss Gottfried, a one-of-a-kind quirky comedian with a wacky, inimitable voice.
Gottfried was born in Brooklyn, where he got his start in entertainment by appearing in a variety of New York City stand-up comedy clubs. During his career in comedy, he also appeared in multiple television shows and most famously voiced the parrot Iago in the Disney movie “Aladdin.”
Gottfried passed away on April 12, 2022, after suffering from years of "Recurrent Ventricular Tachycardia due to Myotonic Dystrophy type II," according to his representative, Glenn Schwartz. Gottfried is survived by his wife, Dara, and their two young children, Lily, 14, and Max, 12.
