While there is disagreement about the success of the Cambridges’ recent royal trip to the Caribbean, most royal watchers agree that Kate Middleton’s wardrobe choices were stunning. She wore bright yellows, deep blues, pastels, and patterns, but one noticeably absent color was orange.
The Duchess of Cambridge loves vivid colors and shares her appreciation of bright colors with Queen Elizabeth, but unlike Her Majesty, Kate shies away from wearing orange. She is not prohibited from wearing the color, but it is a personal choice based on science and the way orange clothing can cast an unflattering reflection on her skin.
Color analyst Gabriella Winters said the color orange tends to make Kate Middleton’s skin appear yellow, particularly when it is close to her face, because her skin can only partially absorb the temperature of this hot color. Thankfully, Kate looks dazzling in almost every other color of the rainbow.
