Move over Hallmark Channel, there’s a new rival in town, and it’s luring away some very popular actresses. GAC Family (formerly Great American Country) is run by Bill Abbott, the former CEO of Hallmark's parent company, Crown Media Family Network, and he has successfully won over Danica McKellar, with whom he had a working relationship at Hallmark.
Danica McKellar was one of Hallmark's most prolific actresses, appearing in "Crown for Christmas," "Christmas at Grand Valley," and "Christmas She Wrote." However, Abbott was able to woo her to GAC by offering Danica a deal to both star in and executive produce multiple movies.
Danica’s first GAC film, “The Winter Palace,” premiered in January 2022, and she promoted it on social media as a “charming romance filled with humor and magic." Danica’s exclusive GAC contract expires in 2023, and fans can expect Hallmark and GAC to battle it out to win Danica’s heart.
