In addition to being a pop star and actor, Lady Gaga is a fashion and beauty icon, so it made sense for her to launch her own beauty brand in the vein of her fellow celebrities, including Selena Gomez and Rihanna. Unfortunately, Gaga's beauty line, Haus Laboratories, did not get the same amount of hype or profit.
It's traditional for beauty product lines, especially those started by celebrities, to have a first-day launch at brick-and-mortar stores such as Sephora or Ulta, with lots of hype and long lines expected. However, Haus Laboratories was launched on Amazon and only Amazon, so fans couldn’t buy any of Lady Gaga’s products in-person.
Gaga fans are hoping that a shift to new retailers will improve Haus' sales. Haus Labs will debut at Sephora on June 9, both online and in stores, and Gaga wrote on Instagram, "At Haus Labs, artistry is for everyone, and no one should have to damage their skin or sacrifice their principles and values to be self-expressive".
