On July 1st, Ricky Martin’s nephew accused the singer of stalking and abuse, but Martin's nephew later asked for the legal case to be withdrawn. It turns out that Martin’s attorney, Marty Singer, is no spring chicken when it comes to defending famous clients, including a certain British royal family member.
Singer has represented the likes of Kim Kardashian, Jonah Hill, and Scarlett Johansson, and even served as Prince Andrew's lawyer amid sexual assault allegations against him; unlike in Martin's case, Andrew and his victim came to a settlement outside of court, but the connection between Martin and the prince still feels bizarre.
Singer has long been the attorney of choice for many famous names in the entertainment industry and has several awards to his name; he was even dubbed Entertainment Lawyer of the Year by the Beverly Hills Bar Association in 2012. Singer was even heralded as a "real-life superhero" by a former client.
