Prince Harry was born to Charles and Diana, Prince and Princess of Wales, and as time went by, it was clear that Prince Harry shared his looks with his mother. Prince Harry and his brother often went with their mother to charity events, as she hoped it would help her sons understand the people's hopes and dreams.
Childhood
Prince Harry was like any other kid growing up, and eschewed fancy royal fare in favor of pizza, burgers, and spaghetti and meatballs. It wasn't just the classic childhood foods that made William and Harry feel like normal children; Princess Diana arranged simple family dinners, free of waitstaff or multiple courses.
Heartbreak
Unfortunately, family drama soon took over Harry's life; the prince was 11 years old when his parents divorced after a messy public battle involving secret affairs, constant hounding by tabloids, and more. A year later, the 12-year-old prince lost his mother, who infamously died in a car accident in Paris.
A Bad Boy
In 1998, 13-year-old Harry joined his older brother at Eton, the Berkshire school historically attended by royalty. Years later, while speaking to a group of children at a youth center, Harry admitted, "I would like to have come to a place like this. When I was at school, I wanted to be the bad boy."
Controversy
In 2001, 16-year-old Harry admitted to drinking underage and smoking marijuana, and Charles even sent him to a rehab center for a day. In 2005, Harry was photographed wearing a Nazi uniform to a costume party, and media response was immediate, leading the prince to apologize officially.
