First meeting
Megan Mullally met Nick Offerman in 2000, when they co-starred in an LA-based play. At the time, Megan was the lead on “Will & Grace” and Offerman had just moved from Chicago; he initially thought "This fancy TV chick thinks she's so great," but Mullally’s comedic talent “melted [his] wall of ice,” so he introduced himself to her.
Comedy tour
Mullally and Offerman are so relatable, funny, and open about their marriage that they developed a joint comedy show, “Summer of 69: No Apostrophe,” and took it on the road. With classic stand-up mixed with the energy of over two decades of marriage, the tour was a hit and was even turned into a television special by Epix.
What jealousy?
When they met, Mullally was 10 to 11 years older than Offerman, and obviously more famous than him. Though some might think this would lead to jealousy or competitiveness on Offerman’s part, he revealed that he and his wife had a “real open student-teacher relationship” as actors, and called her a “master teacher at home.”
Parks and Recreation
During Offerman's time as Ron Swanson on "Parks and Recreation," the character's ex-wife, "Tammy Two," was played by Mullally Speaking about their infamous "hate-sex" scene on the show, Offerman described it as "good therapy, because in any relationship, you have love times and you have who-didn't-do-the-dishes times."
the big reveal
As previously mentioned, when Mullally met Offerman, she was 41 and he was 29, but she thought he was around 38 because he “looked old”. Mullally wanted to get involved with a guy her own age, and when she found out Offerman’s real age, she cried out “YOU MOTHERF***ER” and almost ran her car off the road.
