One of the world's most influential musicians, Paul McCartney, began dating Nancy Shevell in 2007, and they would eventually get married in 2011. But who exactly is Shevell, and how did she and McCartney initially meet?
McCartney initially crossed paths with Shevell, a former board member of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority and current vice president of the Shevell Group, more than 20 years ago when they both owned houses in the Hamptons. Following McCartney's separation from Heather Mills in 2007 and Shevell's divorce from lawyer Bruce Blakeman, the two struck up a low-key relationship.
Barbara Walters, who is Shevell’s second cousin, played matchmaker for McCartney and Shevell, who isn't keen on her marriage to the Beatle being in the spotlight. McCartney isn’t shy about sharing his feelings publicly however, as shown by his caption of a recent Instagram post celebrating their ninth anniversary: "You are my rock and roll, you are my A side and B side, you are my verse and chorus. I love you. Paul."
