In 2016, Russian-American journalist Julia Ioffe uncovered documents of a legal battle between Melania's father, Viktor Knavs, and his ex-partner Marija Cigelnjak.
The documents revealed that Melania has a half-brother named Denis Cigelnjak in Slovenia. Unfortunately, neither Melania nor her father has ever acknowledged Denis publicly.
In 1999, The New York Times asked Melania what she would be like in the White House should her then-boyfriend Donald Trump be elected president one day.
"I would be very traditional," she said, "like Betty Ford or Jackie Kennedy." However, Melania's remark was perceived as an insult by those related to Ford and Kennedy.
As per Melania's former website, she studied design and architecture at University in Slovenia. However, Ioffe revealed that she had actually dropped out of college.
CBS confirmed Ioffe's report by checking the public records of the university. Melania's bio on the official website was later edited to better reflect the truth.
In 2017, Melania's father was photographed arriving in Maryland, and people couldn’t help but point out the glaring similarities between him and Donald Trump.
Melania herself has even pointed out the comparisons. "My dad; he is a family man, he has tradition, he was hardworking. So is my husband," she said in an interview with GQ.
According to Melania, caring for her son, Barron, was a role that only belonged to her. From the sound of it, Donald had no qualms with his wife's requests.
"I didn't want him to change the diapers or put Barron to bed," Melania once told Parenting magazine in reference to sharing parenting duties with her husband.
