The British royal family reunited for the queen's Platinum Jubilee, and Prince Harry's kids being in attendance was a highlight. In particular, Prince Charles was eager to meet his granddaughter Lilibet for the first time. Lilibet, named after Queen Elizabeth's childhood nickname, was born in California in June 2021; the Jubilee marks her first trip to Britain.
Despite his strained relationship with his son Harry, Prince Charles was delighted to finally see his grandkids, and had an emotional meeting with Lilibet and her older brother Archie. A royal insider confirmed, "It was a fantastic visit," noting how wonderful it was for the family to welcome the Sussexes back after so long apart.
Though Charles' first meeting with Lilibet went well, his reunion with Harry was much rougher. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly visited privately with Charles, but there was no real breakthrough in the tension between father and son, though royal expert Christopher Anderson believes Harry was truly hoping to reconcile.
