The story of baby Dominic on "The Young and the Restless" is a complicated one. It all started when Abby Newman and Chance Chancellor wanted to have a baby, but when it didn't happen right away, Abby went to a fertility clinic and discovered she and Chance couldn't conceive together.
Abby remained undeterred, so she approached her friend Mariah Copeland to be her surrogate, and when Mariah accepted, Abby's other friend Devon Hamilton offered his sperm. Abby notified Chance of the situation over FaceTime, and they proceeded, agreeing that Abby and Chance would legally be the parents of this baby.
The pregnancy appeared to be going well until Abby's ex-husband, Dr. Stitch Rayburn, kidnapped Mariah. Stitch disappeared after guiltily leading Abby and Devon to Mariah, and Devon ended up delivering Dominic, who was formally named Dominic Philip Newman Abbott Chancellor.
When doctors discovered Dominic needed a bone marrow transplant, Devon was a perfect match, but that rarely happens with parents. When Dominic recovered, they simply accepted it and moved on, leaving viewers with unanswered questions, making the mystery continue.
