The storyline of “Days of Our Lives” became peculiar when they introduced the Gemini Twins. Discovered and labeled by high school students Belle Black (then Kirsten Storms) and Shawn Douglas Brady (then Jason Cook) during a meteor shower, the alien twins were shown landing in a round object, wearing silver outfits, and possessing no linguistic skills.
As the story progressed, the Gemini Twins were given the names Rex (then Eric Winter) and Cassie (Alexis Thorpe). They were portrayed as genetically engineered humans — the biological children of Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) and Roman Brady (Josh Taylor), who used Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) as a surrogate during her captivity under Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo).
Rex Brady (Eric Winter) left Salem after his girlfriend had an abortion without consulting him, but Rex (now Kyle Lowder) returned to the show in 2018. As for Cassie Brady, she fell victim to The Salem Stalker and was presumed dead until the Stalker's victims were revealed to be living in a remote location — their deaths faked — and were ultimately reunited with their loved ones.
