Howard Stern recently praised Dolly Parton for asking to be removed as one of the 2022 inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but they don’t have a great relationship. In fact, Parton even threatened to sue him once.
Stern edited the audiobook of Dolly Parton's memoir, "My Life and Other Unfinished Business," to allegedly make it sound as if she was making derogatory comments about fellow artists and musicians, including longtime friend Kenny Rogers. It is a tactic Stern regularly uses to create parodies, but Parton found no humor in his antics and threatened a lawsuit.
"I have never been so shocked, hurt, and humiliated in all my life," the country star said. "I cannot believe what Howard Stern has done to me. In a blue million years, I would never have such vulgar things come out of my mouth."
Ultimately, Parton didn’t file the lawsuit, but she must have struck a nerve, because Stern didn’t speak about her again publicly until his recent comments. "Good for her [...] the coolest thing you can do is say no to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame," he said.
