A delicious drink is what every coffee lover strives for, but coffee's many health benefits don't hurt, either; this beverage can help fight diseases and protect or against conditions like heart failure and strokes. As it turns out, you can multiply the health benefits and deliciousness of your coffee by adding a pinch of cinnamon.
Cinnamon is the world's second most popular spice after black pepper, and can help prevent cardiovascular disease, cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and multiple sclerosis. Half a teaspoon of cinnamon in your coffee can also help balance blood sugar and cholesterol levels — and it's much a healthier boost of sweetness than a creamer or artificial sweetener.
The easiest ways to add cinnamon into your coffee are to either add the ground spice to the filter, or sprinkle it directly over the coffee grounds before brewing. Either of these will help reduce clumping and spread the flavor throughout the whole cup. You can also use a whole cinnamon stick to infuse your coffee with a stronger cinnamon hit.
