Celebrity Babies You Didn't Know Were Born In 2019

There are few things more exciting in life than the arrival of a newborn baby — whether it's yours, your BFF's, or your favorite celebrity's. Even if babies aren't necessarily your cup of tea, you have to admit that it's fun witnessing secondhand the excitement of new and expecting parents. From the initial pregnancy announcements, to the much-anticipated (and sometimes a wee bit over-the-top) gender reveal parties, to the oh-so-tiny and adorable newborn outfits — what's not to love?

While normal folks get to enjoy their pregnancies and newborns without having to worry about hoards of paparazzi trying to snap the first pic of their little one, celebrities have no such luck. The media frenzy surrounding a celeb's pregnancy can really put a damper on the whole experience of welcoming a newborn into the world. However, some celebrities do manage to keep their distance from gossip hungry paps, meaning that fans might not even know their favorite stars have new additions to be celebrated. Here's a look at the celebrity babies born in 2019 that totally flew under the radar.

Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach's baby

Mumblecore film star and award-winning Lady Bird screenwriter and director, Greta Gerwig, lives a famously private life. The star rarely makes tabloid headlines and chooses not to have a social media presence — but purposely staying out of the spotlight has done nothing to diminish Gerwig's fame. In fact, the star's preference for privacy has only made the public even more interested in what's happening in her life behind-the-scenes.

Gerwig managed to keep her pregnancy under wraps — something that's basically unheard of in Hollywood — so when it was announced in March 2019 that the Frances Ha star had given birth to her first child with Noah Baumbach, the news came as a surprise.

After spotting the couple pushing a blanket-covered stroller down a Manhattan sidewalk, Page Six reached out to Gerwig's reps, who confirmed the news with a simple statement: "We can confirm that Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach have welcomed their first child together." No word on the little one's name, but according to a source who spoke exclusively with Us Weekly, Gerwig and Baumbach's newest addition is a baby boy.

Angelo James LaValle

When we first met Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi on Jersey Shore, it was difficult to imagine the fun-loving, foul-mouthed reality star one day becoming a mother. However, Snooki's gym, tan, laundry days are behind her now, and 2019 saw this Jersey girl give birth to her third child with husband Jionni LaValle.

The newest addition to Snooki and LaValle's family, Angelo, made his way into the world on May 30, 2019. The proud mom revealed to People, "[We are] so thrilled to welcome baby Angelo into our little family! He is so sweet and a spitting image of Lorenzo as a baby. Jionni and I can't wait to see how being outnumbered turns out!"

Snooki and LaValle welcomed their first son, Lorenzo, in August 2012. Just over two years later, in September 2014, daughter Giovanna was born. The former Jersey Shore star took to Instagram days after Angelo's birth to post a photo of the newborn with his two older siblings. "MY SQUAD. So proud of Lorenzo & Giovanna for killing it with Angelo," Snooki captioned the sweet pic.

Alessi Ren Luyendyk

Former Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr. made waves in 2018 when he proposed to Becca Kufrin, only to break off the engagement months later in front of a camera crew and confess his love for runner-up, Lauren Burnham. The once-brokenhearted Burnham quickly accepted his apology, and the two dated for a short time before getting engaged on the show's After the Final Rose special.

The dramatic ordeal garnered the couple a fair amount of backlash, and many speculated the relationship would crash and burn in the coming months. However, Luyendyk Jr. and Burnham continue to prove the naysayers wrong at every turn. In January 2019, two months after they announced they were expecting their first child, Luyendyk Jr. and Burnham got married in a fairytale Hawaiian wedding. "As soon as I saw her [walking down the aisle] I just started crying," the former Bachelor told Us Weekly. "I was trying to keep it together."

On May 29, 2019, the newlyweds welcomed their first daughter, Alessi Ren Luyendyk. "She is sweet, calm and [Arie] and I could not be more in love with her," Burnham captioned an Instagram photo of the newborn.

Oscar Ramsay

Chef Gordon Ramsay has a reputation for being a pretty intimidating kind of guy — especially if you make a mistake in his kitchen. Who can forget famous Hell's Kitchen clip in which he put two slices of bread on either side of a contestant's head and made the chef call herself an "idiot sandwich?" Sheesh.

Despite his rough exterior, Ramsay is apparently a total softie when it comes to his family. For the chef's 50th birthday in 2018, he was surprised by his wife, Tana, and their four children — 20-year-old Megan, 18-year-old twins Holly and Jack, and 16-year-old Matilda — with a meal they made themselves. "I'm quite emotional," Ramsay told his family during the meal (via Today). "I may cry."

There's no doubt Ramsay was "quite emotional" on April 4, 2019, when Tana delivered a healthy baby boy after suffering a devastating miscarriage in 2016. The celebrity chef took to Instagram to post a picture of himself with his wife and newborn, captioning the photo, "After 3 [BAFTAS] and one Emmy... finally we have won an Oscar. Please welcome Oscar James Ramsay, who touched down at 12:58 today for some lunch."

Pilar Jhena McKinley

Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Porsha Williams, gave birth to her first child with fiancé Dennis McKinley on Friday, March 22, 2019. The couple, who named their newborn daughter Pilar Jhena, could hardly contain their excitement when announcing her arrival to People. "What a time to be alive," McKinley told the publication. "Porsha and I are so happy and blessed to announce the arrival of our daughter, Baby PJ. We couldn't have imagined a more magical moment!"

New dad and fellow Bravo star, Andy Cohen, extended his congratulations to Williams and McKinley on social media — and even cheekily hinted at a future romance between their daughter and his newborn son, Ben. "Congratulations [Porsha] on your baby! I hope to make a Love Connection for a Ben," Cohen tweeted, referencing the now-cancelled Fox dating show of which he was the host.

Williams definitely seems to be enjoying motherhood and baby Pilar. In May 2018, the new mom posted a video of her sleeping baby to Instagram, captioning it, "Who else spends most of their time staring at their baby?"

Ivy Jane Seewald

Jessa Seewald (née, Duggar), of 19 Kids and Counting fame, gave birth to her third child — daughter Ivy Jane — with husband Ben Seewald on May 26, 2018. The couple took to the Duggar family's website to dish the details of the baby girl's birth to fans.

"We were getting ready for church when my water broke, and we were thinking, "Well, I guess we have a change of plans," Jessa wrote. "After three and a half hours of labor, Ivy was born at 5:57pm."

According to the couple, Jessa's previous two pregnancies each extended five days past their respective due dates, so they expected her third pregnancy to follow suit. Instead, Ivy Jane arrived two weeks earlier than her older brothers did. Of course, Baby Ivy's early arrival was a welcomed surprise for the Seewalds. "We're so grateful to God for this precious gift," the couple wrote. "She is already so loved. Her big brothers adore her!"
