Who Is Chrissy Metz Dating And How Did They Meet?

Chrissy Metz is in love — or at least in a whole lot of like. The This Is Us star appeared on The Wendy Williams Show on July 17, 2019, and revealed some juicy gossip about her love life.

Metz said that she has a new boyfriend and that they've been dating for about three months — not long enough for Metz to be comfortable asking him to move in, but definitely long enough for her to gush about him on TV. "It's very new, it's very exciting," said Metz.

The couple met on Instagram after Metz responded to one of the many messages she receives on the social media site. How does one simply slide into the DMs of a beautiful TV star and come out with a girlfriend? Metz said that her boyfriend-to-be was "very sweet but not obnoxious or weird," so she checked him out. When she confirmed that he wasn't just sweet but also cute, she decided to message him back and they "just sort of hit it off."

She didn't reveal too much about her new beau, but we do know that he's definitely not in show business. The actress shut Williams down when she called Metz's boyfriend "just a regular guy," though. "He's more than a regular guy," said Metz.

Metz is clearly besotted, although she's a little reluctant to introduce her new flame to the press. When asked if she'd be bringing him along to the Emmy Awards in September 2019, Metz hesitated. "That's a lot of pressure to put on someone!" she said. "It's like work still, so I feel like I can't be 100 percent there — not that he wouldn't support that, I'm sure he'd be very excited... We'll see."

We can't really blame Chrissy  Metz for wanting to keep her boyfriend to herself for now. There's a lot to be said for extending the honeymoon phase and keeping your relationship away from the prying eyes of the paparazzi.
