"In school I was quite popular on MySpace and that kind of followed on to Instagram," she said. "It was really weird when people started recognizing me and stuff on the street. I just got used to it." 

Many people didn't become aware of Demi Rose Mawby until the model started dating rapper Tyga in 2016, shortly after he broke up with Kylie Jenner. While the relationship didn't work out, Mawby wishes him well. She also wishes that people would stop talking about her in terms of her famous ex-boyfriend. As she so rightly pointed out, she's a celeb in her own right. "I was quite known before I even met him," she told the Daily Mail in 2017. "But I'm still referred to as Tyga's ex."

She insisted that there's no ill feelings between the two. "We still talk now and then, you know, just 'how are you?' and stuff," she said. We usually work on my glutes, abs and conditioning my body sessions with some cardio." It's an intense routine, and Mawby said that it can be hard to stick to, especially as she's often on the road for work. Life hasn't always been easy for Demi Rose Mawby, and, even now that she's famous, there are still people who dislike her. Demi Rose Mawby's father passed away in October 2018, and her mother passed just eight months later. The back-to-back deaths were a devastating blow to the model, who was quite close to her family. While Mawby posted tributes to both of her parents on her social media (via The Sun), she hardly spoke out publicly about the losses, choosing instead to throw herself into her work.

"I am trusting the divine timing of the universe," the devastated Mawby wrote on Instagram (via The Sun). "I have faith that I am in the right place at the right time, and I am going in the right direction. I trust that everything I am going through now is teaching me and preparing me for my future. Everything is happening as it needs to."

The model also credited her fans with helping her keep going during the emotionally difficult time. "Thank you all so much for the love and support," she said. "I really really appreciate it and you all are like my extended family. Gotta keep rolling."

Early in her career, Demi Rose Mawby was involved with Taz's Angels, a group of models who live together in a mansion and are managed by a man named Taz — who has been referred to as "the black Hugh Hefner." While Taz's Angels claims to be a mentorship program that helps train the girls to become wealthy and famous, it has drawn accusations of actually being a clandestine escort service. 

Mawby, who moved to the U.S. to be one of Taz's Angels, eventually left the group, but she insisted that none of the young women were involved in illegal activity. "No it was never like that at all," she told The Sun in 2016. "Not an escort agency at all. We were hosting clubs and having fun. Just being popular on social media and showing people a bit of our life."

She also credited Taz's Angels with helping build her international brand. "We went to parties and hosted clubs, we went to America, we saw the world. It did make me more internationally known," she shared.

From 2017 to 2019, Demi Rose Mawby dated fellow DJ Chris Martinez. While Martinez is quite good looking, it was probably his personality that played a bigger role in the pair getting together. "I don't really have a type because I like personalities better," Mawby told The Sun in 2016, after her breakup with Tyga. "So I don't really look at guys like oh my god, 'I'd love to be with him' because you never know how they are going to be."

She added that she isn't really into pretty boys and could fall for anyone regardless of appearances as long as they treat her well and have a good personality. "Just little things like open the door, little surprises like bring me flowers or get my favorite food," she said. "Get some nuts or something. Cashews are my favorite. Guys actually do that for me and get me nuts. It makes me so happy."
