Counting On's Abbie And John David Duggar Are Expecting Their First Baby

Counting On fans have been wondering when John David Duggar and his wife, Abbie Duggar, would have their first baby. Their long wait is finally over as John David and Abbie announced on August 1, 2019 that they're expecting their first little one.

The couple, who were married in November 2018, announced the pregnancy on Instagram with a picture of them in an airplane holding up a onesie that said "baby passenger on board." The delighted couple captioned the post in true Duggar fashion by expressing their gratitude to God.

"We are on Cloud 9 about welcoming our own little Duggar into the world!!!" they wrote. "It really is amazing to think about being parents and having our own child to raise. We are thankful that God has blessed us with this new life and we look forward to taking on this new adventure!"

The announcement confirmed fan rumors that the couple was getting ready to add to the ever-growing Duggar family. An Instagram picture posted a few days before the announcement showed John David holding his wife's stomach, making people think that a pregnancy announcement was coming soon.

Others thought that Abbie might be expecting after her sister-in-law, Jessa Seewald, revealed on Instagram on June 11 that a Duggar baby was due this winter. As no winter babies had been announced yet, some thought the winter baby might be John David and Abbie's.

While the couple hasn't announced their baby's due date yet, the pregnancy might be why John David and Abbie took a social media break a few months ago. Following a Mother's Day post on May 12, the couple didn't post anything on Instagram for months until they finally returned to the social media site on July 16 to commemorate the one year anniversary of their engagement.

It's possible that we will get more details about the pregnancy in October, when new episodes of Counting On will air on TLC. Duggar births are sometimes featured in a Counting On special, so this is another possibility fans can look forward to.
