Little People, Big World's Amy Roloff Opens Up About Her Mother's Death

Little People, Big World star Amy Roloff opened up on September 30 about the loss of her mother, Patricia Knight. Knight passed away at the age of 86 after being hospitalized for heart problems.

At the beginning of June, Roloff announced that she would be going home to spend time with her parents after her mother's hospitalization. "My mom isn't doing so well and I need to see them," Roloff wrote in an Instagram post. "Every moment is precious the older I get and the older they get. Like the old days I'm going to make dinner for them. This Michigan girl is coming home."

Amy Roloff is 'comforted by all the memories' in the wake of her mother's death

While Roloff didn't reveal too many details about her mother's death, she did share how the loss impacted her. "I am so sad about my mom's passing but comforted by all the memories I have and that she lived a happy, long life with my father," Roloff told People. "She was a great mom. Thank you for all the condolences and well wishes. Life is a gift, appreciate the moments in each day."

Roloff also opened up on Instagram about losing her mother. She posted a picture of her grandchildren with the caption, "It's been a tough week after hearing sad news. But these two — my grandkids Jackson and Ember — always make me smile and melt my heart. Simply, Love them so much."

Amy Roloff's loss followed a much happier event

The death of Amy Roloff's mother comes just weeks after Roloff announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend, Chris Marek. Marek proposed on September 18, the day after Roloff's birthday. "I'm excited, I'm so surprised, I'm thrilled!" Roloff told People. "I never in a million years thought I'd be getting married again, but I also hoped for it! Now that it's happening, I couldn't be happier or more excited."

Days before the news of her mother's death, Roloff shared a snap of her heart-shaped engagement ring on Instagram, saying, "I said YES. I couldn't be happier and so looking forward to this new part of our life journey together. I'm blessed."
