Here's Who Kaley Cuoco Was Married To Before Karl Cook

Today, it doesn't seem like there's any cuter couple than Kaley Cuoco and her husband Karl Cook. The pair met and bonded over their mutual love of horses (he's a professional equestrian) and they made their relationship official in 2016, she told Women's Health. They're an unconventional couple who love to Instagram shame each other, and even though they're often apart, they're both comfortable with who they are and with their relationship (via TODAY).

But before the Big Bang Theory star and Cook got together, Cuoco was married to professional tennis player Ryan Sweeting. Sweeting and Cuoco had a whirlwind, two-year relationship that officially ended in 2015. So, who is Ryan Sweeting?

Kaley Cuoco's ex-husband Ryan Sweeting is a former professional tennis player

Ryan Sweeting is a retired professional tennis player who played professionally from 2007 to 2015, according to ATP Tour. He got his start in tennis early, winning the U.S. Open Boys' Singles title in 2005 as a high school student before going on to play for the Florida Gators men's NCAA team at the University of Florida.

Sweeting made his professional debut in 2006 against the more seasoned champ Guillermo Coria — and won. However, he didn't turn professional officially until 2007. His career was fairly successful, but he announced that he was retiring at the age of 28, according to Tennis World. Sweeting, after a rough couple of years after he won the Houston Open in 2011, was plagued by back problems that forced him to sit out of competing. He made the announcement on his official Facebook page in 2015.

Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting were engaged three months after they started dating

Cuoco and Sweeting met in 2013, just a few months after Cuoco's brief romance with Superman actor Henry Cavill (via E! Online). Within three months of meeting each other and making a few red carpet appearances, the former couple confirmed their engagement exclusively to Us Weekly later that year.

She told ET, "From day one I just knew immediately and it's been magic... We have all the same family friends... We grew up with the same people, we just never met. So I kind of feel that I've known him my whole life. I know that it seems a little crazy on paper, but it's what works for us."

Cuoco defended her and Sweeting's decision to solidify their relationship so quickly on The Late Show with David Letterman, joking that they texted a bit, had dinner, and he moved in the next day. "It sounds so slutty, but it wasn't," she said. "It all did move quite fast on paper, but we really did know!"

Kaley Cuoco filed for divorce in 2015

The couple tied the knot on New Year's Eve in 2013, which she confirmed in an Instagram post, even though she's since deleted the caption. They also spent their "mini-honeymoon" at Disney. The pair seem genuinely happy on Instagram and in real life, even though Cuoco had to fend of divorce rumors in early 2015, according to E! Online

Cuoco officially filed for divorce from the tennis player in 2015, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Cuoco said that her marriage to Sweeting "ruined" her, and she wasn't sure if she was going to get married ever again.

"I married someone the first time who completely changed," she told the magazine. "The person I ended up with was not the person I originally met. And that wasn't my fault — that was his. I knew how much I had to give and how much I wanted to receive. I knew I just had to be patient... I had to go through a lot of things, but it brought me to Karl."
