The Truth About Emma Stone's Engagement Ring

Emma Stone's engagement announcement may have been understated, but her engagement ring is anything but. Her fiance, SNL star Dave McCary, announced that they were engaged on December 4 via Instagram. He captioned a picture of the happy couple and Stone's outstretched ring finger with a pair of hearts.

The shot of the ring McCary posted is a bit blurry, so fans weren't able to see how truly magnificent Stone's sparkler is. According to E! News, the ring McCary chose for Stone is Catbird's Winter Pearl Ring. Instead of a traditional diamond in the center of the ring, Stone's ring is set with an 8mm untreated Akoya pearl. The ring features 0.37 carat diamonds surrounding the profile in a snowflake motif and is crafted from 18-karat gold. It has a delicate 1mm band and an 11mm center.

The Winter Pearl Ring was designed by Yoshinobu Kataoka and was made in Japan. It retails for $4,780. According to the Catbird website, Kataoka is a master jeweler based in Tokyo. Kataoka's jewelry uses conflict free metals and diamonds, so Stone can wear her dazzling ring in good conscience.

Emma Stone and Dave McCary have kept quiet about their relationship

Emma Stone and now-fiancé Dave McCary were first spotted in public in 2017. Stone is a notoriously private person (she doesn't even have an Instagram account), and it seems McCary is as well. The couple have kept pretty quiet about their relationship, but Stone did talk about her hopes for the future in a 2018 interview with Elle.

"My perspective about kids has changed as I've gotten older," she said in the interview, which was conducted by her pal Jennifer Lawrence (who said Stone would be a great mom as she's so "nurturing"). "I never babysat or anything. As a teenager, I was like, I'm never getting married, I'm never having kids. And then I got older and I was like, I really want to get married, I really want to have kids."
