Blair Waldorf's Most Powerful Gossip Girl Quotes

Gossip Girl may have ended its memorable six-season run in 2012 (and a reboot may be just around the corner), but fans still devour the reruns on Netflix as fervently as they watched the series when it first went to air in 2007 (via IMDb).

At the heart of the show were high school frenemies Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf — Blair is the show's Queen Bee, the girl everyone may not have wanted to be friends with necessarily, but who they wanted to be. Blair didn't rule her high school with compassion — fan sites like Charactour have described her as manipulative, domineering, and with a questionable moral compass.

Those characteristics propelled Blair to an iconic position in 21st-century pop culture, and sites like Her Campus aren't likely to forget her, what she said, and how she said it anytime soon.

'I'm not a stop along the way. I'm a destination.'

It may sound like something you'd say to someone who used you (or someone you know) and abused you, but in the show's Season 1, Episode 5, Blair says, "I'm not a stop along the way, I'm a destination," to her friend Serena, after Serena opts out of a house party to go on a date, then offers to drop by afterward when (if?) she has time (via TV Fanatic). Don't worry — Blair didn't sit around to find out whether Serena would show, because as she pointed out, the party had a waitlist.

When taken out of context, the line sounds like something Blair could have said to Chuck Bass, the man she eventually ends up marrying after a roller-coaster six-season love affair (via Screen Rant). It's also something we really should keep in mind in the event we meet someone who makes us question our own worth (via SheKnows).

'Forget boys, keep your eye on the prize.'

Blair Waldorf launches into an unforgettable soliloquy bursting with Blair-isms in Gossip Girl Season 2, Episode 25, just before she graduates from high school. To Jenny Humphrey, who wants to take up Blair's spot as Queen of Constance (and after a tumultuous bid that nearly scuppers her ambitions), Blair lays out what she thinks are the qualities of an unassailable Queen Bee.

She even invokes a bit of history as she says (via Gossip Girl Fandom and TV Fanatic), "You need to be cool to be queen. Anne Boleyn thought only with her heart and she got her head chopped off. So her daughter Elizabeth made a vow never to marry a man. She married a country. Forget boys. Keep your eye on the prize, Jenny Humphrey. You can't make people love you, but you can make them fear you."
