The Story Behind Christina Anstead's Unique Wedding Dress
In case you missed it, Flip or Flop's Christina Anstead married Wheelers Dealers host Ant Anstead in December 2018, but we're still not quite over her stunning wedding dress. Designed by Ines di Santo, the lace gown featured a mermaid silhouette and lace embellished detachable illusion sleeves, which fit the blonde bombshell like a glove.
Prior to the event, Anstead told People, "I knew I wanted it to be romantic." Completely customized to achieve the dress of her dreams, she explained, "We added sleeves to a dress that didn't have sleeves, and we made them detachable so that I could walk down the aisle with this dress with long sleeves and lace and then take them off for the party." She was after something that was classic and would add an element of surprise for her now-husband when she walked down the aisle. Her only mandatory? That it would make her "feel beautiful."
Christina Anstead's surprise wedding had a rustic feel
Anstead completed her bridal look with natural makeup and hair, along with a lace veil, which suited the theme of the surprise wedding. "We wanted it to be rustic romance," Anstead told People. "It was just perfect for us. Everything we wanted." Hosted at the couple's home in Newport Beach, California, the event was family-friendly and full of love. "We wanted to make it about the kids," she continued. "It's the six of us. We're a blended family so it was really important for them to be a part of it."
"12.22.18 such an amazing, emotional, incredible day for us and our 4 kids," Anstead wrote of the big day on her Instagram shortly after tying the knot. "Getting married at our home under the full moon couldn't have been more magical. Love you @ant_anstead and our blended family... love doing this life with you."
