Why 90 Day Fiance's Michael And Juliana Won't Be Adopting After All

As 2019 drew to a close, it seemed as though 90 Day Fiancé stars Michael and Juliana were finally on the road to making their adoption dreams come true. Now, just a few months later, their plans seem to have been put on hold.

As reported by Soap Dirt at the time, Michael first announced the couple's happy news back in December, while he was in the midst of a rant targeting TLC for allegedly giving him a bad edit. An episode of 90 Day Fiancé seemed to suggest Michael was a bit of a bully, who was taking advantage of Juliana. Michael described the scenes in question as, "manufactured bulls***," claiming the show didn't accurately reflect reality. Michael then listed all the ways he's helped Juliana's family out financially, suggesting that he's actually a charitable guy who wants to give back rather than a selfish jerk.

In the midst of his rant, he also revealed that he and Juliana were going to bring her niece, 6, and nephew, 8, to the States to live with them. According to Michael, the legal process had already begun in earnest. The 90 Day Fiance star described the kids as Juliana's "babies" whom she missed very much, and as being "in dire straits" back in Brazil, hence why he was happy to adopt them.

The pandemic has stalled Michael and Juliana's adoption plans

Now, it seems the coronavirus has put all of those plans on hold indefinitely. Soap Dirt reports that during a recent Q&A session with fans, Juliana revealed the ongoing pandemic had "destroyed" all their adoption plans, because travel in and out of the U.S. has been put on hold, which prevents the kids from moving there from Brazil, at least for now. As for biological children, Juliana responded to a fan question about whether she wanted to have babies with Michael with simply saying, "I want 2."

The 90 Day Fiance star has been busy studying for her GED while the couple is in lockdown. She attained her work permit recently, so Juliana may be looking to impress future employers or even to head to college someday. Either way, she's certainly keeping busy during these troubling times.
