The Untold Truth Of Raven-Symone's Wife

Actress and singer Raven-Symone shocked fans with the revelation she'd tied the knot with Miranda Maday, sharing a gushing Instagram post alongside a sweet photo of the two ladies embracing happily on their special day. "I got married to a woman who understands me from trigger to joy, from breakfast to midnight snack, from stage to home," the actress wrote in the caption. Judging by the photo, it looks to have been an intimate affair, which took place in a backyard.

The actress and former co-host on The View also posted a shot of their wedding rings, as well as a smattering of other photos from the day of she and Maday looking completely smitten with each other, and some of the delicious-looking food that was on offer for guests. Maday, meanwhile, shared some equally romantic shots of her own, including of the stunning wedding cake. Raven-Symone tweeted all the way back in 2013, "I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you," after the Supreme Court struck down a law barring federal recognition of same-sex marriage.

Raven-Symone's wife is super private

NBC News reports the social media posts mark the first time Raven-Symone has discussed her relationship with Maday publicly. In stark contrast to her new wife, Maday isn't hugely active on social media. Her Instagram page is pretty bare, though she does have over 20,000 followers at the time of writing. It may be because social media is her job, however. Per her Linkedin, Maday is a UCLA graduate who's currently working as a social media manager for mobile app Off the Menu, which helps users find secret items at Los Angeles-based food outlets.

She's also a doula, as a per a Mother's Day post in which she advises, "As a doula I am privileged to witness the incredible strength each woman embodies while bringing their baby earth-side (C sections count too!) and the fierce love, sacrifice and work it takes to raise a child."

Raven-Symone's wife took her last name

Following the wedding, Maday hyphenated her last name to include Raven-Symone's, whose full name is actually Raven-Symone Christina Pearman. Maday now goes by Miranda Pearman-Maday, something her new wife referenced in the caption sharing their happy news, when she noted, "I love you Mrs. Pearman-Maday!" For their big day, the two ladies wore contrasting colored jumpsuits, with Raven-Symone in classic black and Pearman-Maday in chic white.

The That's So Raven alum has made several low-key references to her sexual orientation over the years, but refuses to be drawn on her personal life, tweeting in 2012, "My sexual orientation is mine, and the person I'm datings to know. I'm not one for a public display of my life." Just a couple years later, she told Oprah Winfrey during a chat for her Where Are They Now? series simply that she was "proud" to be who she is.
