Body Language Expert Makes Surprising Claims About Harry And Meghan's Latest Appearance

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently took part in a video call that has led to a body language expert making some surprising claims. On the call, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry met with young leaders from the Queen's Commonwealth Trust and spoke about equality and historical injustices, including the slave trade.

"When you look across the Commonwealth, there is no way that we can move forward unless we acknowledge the past," said Harry (via The Guardian). "So many people have done such an incredible job of acknowledging the past and trying to right those wrongs, but I think we all acknowledge there is so much more still to do."

His wife added, "We're going to have to be a little uncomfortable right now, because it's only in pushing through that discomfort that we get to the other side of this and find the place where a high tide raises all ships. Equality does not put anyone on the back foot, it puts us all on the same footing – which is a fundamental human right."

Meghan was 'mesmerizing' on the call

Body language expert Judi James told the Daily Mail's FEMAIL that Harry seemed "awkward" during the call and that he often "spoke down to the floor."

This was a big contrast to how Meghan presented herself on the call. While Harry was "silent" for the first part of the call, his wife made the opening comments. Meghan also appeared "almost [in] the middle of the shot" which helped "utilize the space," said James. Harry, on the other hand, seemed "slightly trapped to one side, with no room to gesticulate and – at the start – no room to speak." She added, "Meghan is mesmerizing but Harry either repeats her words or adds a 'Yeah' after she makes a point."

According to James, Harry seemed to take a backseat to Meghan during the call and was unsure of his approach. That doesn't necessarily indicate a lack of passion, though. James noted that his body language indicated "that he realize[d] the importance of his words." This may have led him to carefully weigh everything he said, leaving it "to Meghan to wrap his message up into a more powerful phrase."

Meghan and Harry work well as a team

Later in the call, Harry seemed to relax a little bit and moved in closer to the camera as he pivoted to "a more humorous, self-effacing approach." James noted that, "while this play[ed] more to his natural strengths," it was "slightly out of kilter with Meghan's sense of passion and purpose" and led to Meghan "correct[ing] him quickly."

James said this shows something interesting about the couple's dynamic. "She laughs and touches her hair but she also corrects him quickly," said James. "She leans in even closer to Harry after this, which shows like-minded thinking and affection, but which also hints at a desire to close him down for the end of their conversation."

While Harry may not have been at ease on the call, the way Meghan handled the situation shows that the couple work well together.
