The Truth About Heather Rae Young's Engagement Ring
Heather Rae Young and Tarek El Moussa are getting married! The happy couple announced their engagement on Instagram in the caption of a photo of El Moussa sliding a ring on Young's finger. "She said yes!" wrote El Moussa. Young posted the same pic on Instagram with the caption "The Future Mrs. Tarek El Moussa!!!!"
While Young and El Moussa didn't post a close-up of the engagement ring, El Moussa provided People with the details of the sparkler. Young's engagement ring is reportedly an emerald-cut, colorless diamond coming in at a whopping eight carats. "The diamond is perfect all the way around, just like Heather," said El Moussa. "I also picked this ring because 8 is a lucky number."
The Flip or Flop star proposed on a boat trip to Catalina Island, California, which Young thought was just to celebrate their first anniversary as a couple. Before proposing, El Moussa said that he secretly visited Young's parents to ask for their blessing.

While El Moussa's proposal was a surprise, it wasn't totally unexpected. Young and El Moussa — who was previously married to his Flip or Flop co-star, Christina Anstead — have been talking about tying the knot for some time. "I don't want to ruin any surprises but we definitely talk about it," Young told E! News in May. "I don't want to put pressure because he knows I'm 100% the one, but I think it'll happen. Hopefully sooner than later, but I just don't know when."
Young said that she didn't want to rush anything, and that she was happy just being with El Moussa. "We just have the best time together," she told ET in May. "He's my best friend in the whole world and I'm just really enjoying what we have right now. I don't feel like there's a rush. And honestly, I want him to feel a hundred percent ready. He went through a very public divorce. He went through a really rough time, and I want him to do it when he feels ready."
