After several days of speculation, Simone Biles has revealed that there's a new man in her life. Biles went Instagram official with her boyfriend, Jonathan Owens, on August 2. Biles posted two photos of herself and her beau on the social media platform with the caption "It's just us."
As noted by The Shade Room on Instagram on July 23, Biles had previously wished Owens a happy birthday and posted a picture of Owens giving her a piggyback ride on her Instagram Story. The post led to rumors that Simone and Biles were romantically linked.
Biles' announcement came just a few weeks after she confirmed that she had ended her long term relationship with fellow gymnast Stacey Ervin Jr. in early March. As noted by People, the couple had been together since 2017, and were quite serious about each other with Biles once calling him the "man of her dreams." While she didn't reveal what led to the split, it seems like things have worked out well for the gymnast. "It's hard being young and having that long of a relationship and then ending it," she told Vogue in July. "But it was for the best."

The 25-year-old is a safety for the Houston Texans. Per his profile on the National Football League website, he attended Missouri Western State University. The pro athlete stands just an inch under six feet and weighs 210 pounds.
According to Elle, Biles and Owens have a lot in common, aside from being athletes. Both Owens and Biles are based in Texas. Biles is training for the Olympics — which were pushed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic — at the World Champions Center, which is located in Spring. Owens is based nearby in Houston, which is just 26 minutes away, so it's likely that the two are able to see each other frequently.
Both athletes are also dog lovers. Biles has two French bulldogs named Lilo and Rambo who have their own Instagram account, @thebilesfrenchies, where Biles regularly posts adorable photos of them. Owens has an English bulldog, who also has his own Instagram account, @zeusthebulldog36.

Biles has often spoken of her love for her parents. Biles was adopted by her biological grandfather and his second wife after her birth mother was unable to take care of her. "My parents saved me," she said when she was competing on Dancing With the Stars in 2017. "They've set huge examples of how to treat other people, and they've been there to support me since day one.
