Everything We Know About The Who's The Boss? Reboot So Far

Get ready for some serious nostalgia. Variety just announced that the beloved sitcom, Who's the Boss?, is getting a reboot.

Who's the Boss? was a wild success during its original run. Over the course of its eight season run of 196 episodes from 1984 to 1992, it garnered 10 Emmy nominations as well as five Golden Globes. Per CTV, the show centers on widower and retired pro baseball player Tony Micelli, who "takes a job as a housekeeper for a high-powered divorced businesswoman, Angela Bower, and her son." Tony and his daughter, Samantha, "move into the Bower residence, where Tony's laid-back personality contrasts with Angela's type-A behavior. Angela's man-hungry mother, Mona, is also in the mix."

The reboot will take place 30 years after the events of the original Who's the Boss? and will focus on baseball star/retired housekeeper Tony and his daughter, Samantha, a single mom who is living in the same house from the original series.

Who will star on the Who's the Boss reboot?

Tony Danza and Alyssa Milano, will be reprising their roles on the reboot as Tony and Samantha. Variety noted that Judith Light and Danny Pintauro, who played Angela and her son, Jonathan (per IMDb) are not currently attached to the project although that may change in the future. Katherine Helmond, who played Angela's mother, Mona, passed away in 2019 (per The Hollywood Reporter).

Danza and Milano both expressed their excitement at the news of the reboot on social media. "Very excited to bring Who's The Boss back to television!" wrote Danza on Instagram. Milano also posted the news on Instagram. "I've wanted to share this for so long and now I can!" she wrote. "We feel the time is right to tell the story of where these amazing characters are today. Can't wait to share their stories with you. So happy."

A premiere date for the Who's the Boss reboot has not yet been announced.
