Masters Of Flip: The Real Reason Dave And Kortney Had Four Weddings

Dave and Kortney Wilson have been appearing on HGTV's Masters of Flip since 2015, but as longtime fans of the lovable duo will know, they've been working together for much longer. As Distractify notes, Dave and Kortney originally started flipping houses to supplement their burgeoning music careers. After realizing they had a knack for it, following the renovation of their own home, the intrepid duo turned it into their full-time career. HGTV soon came calling and the Wilsons have fronted several shows in the U.S. and their native Canada, including CMT's Meet the Wilsons and The Wilsons Flip Out.

As House Beautiful notes, their latest project, Making It Home with Kortney and Dave, looks to assist families with making their homes into cozier, more functional spaces without breaking the bank. As the title suggests, the goal of each renovation is to make the house feel like home, simple as that. And when it comes to their own home, the couple apparently wanted to ensure their bond was as definitive as possible.

Masters of Flip stars Dave and Kortney wanted to make it really official

The HGTV stars tied the knot all the way back in 2001. However, over the ensuing years, Dave and Kortney have exchanged their vows four times total. "We're hoping to get it right one of these times," Dave joked in an interview with HGTV Canada. Their three children, Jett, Sully, and Lennox, were all present as witnesses each time their parents renewed their vows, so it was a real family affair.

Sadly, however, Dave and Kortney's decision to make it official four times over didn't stick as, in December 2019, Kortney took to social media to announce that, after 18 years of marriage, she and Dave would be separating. "As most of you know, there is so much more to every story and ours is no different. What we want you to know, most of all is that we have the utmost love and respect for one another," she wrote on Instagram. In keeping with their positive outlook, the duo will of course continue working together as normal.
