Everything We Know About Princess Eugenie's Pregnancy

Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank just revealed they are expecting. The royal couple made the sweet announcement on Instagram with an adorable photo of the couple holding a fuzzy pair of teddy bear baby shoes. "Jack and I are so excited for 2021," the caption read. This bundle of joy will be the first grandchild for Eugenie's parents Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, according to People. This will be the ninth great-grandchild for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

Buckingham Palace also confirmed the joyous news in a statement that read, "Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in early 2021," the official royal family's Instagram wrote beneath a photo of the royal couple on their wedding day. "The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are delighted with the news."

Well-wishes are coming in from members of the royal family

The couple married at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in October 2018, according to The Guardian. The pair first met years prior, while on holiday. Eugenie said they met while skiing in Switzerland and she originally questioned her future husband's wardrobe choices, as reported by People. She explained he was wearing a silly hat and thought to herself, "Who's that?" "And then [looking at Jack], you came over and shook my hand and I was all butterflies and nervous," she confessed.

Now years later, the duo is celebrating their first child and Eugenie's mom, Sarah Ferguson, said she couldn't be more excited. "Thrilled for them both and in my 60th year cannot wait to be a grandmother," she said in a statement to People. "Welcoming a new baby into the York family is going to be a moment of profound joy."

A source close to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry also revealed to People that the couple reached out privately with well-wishes to the newly expecting parents.
