Everything We Know About Tad Starsiak

What's everything we know about Tad Starsiak? Although HGTV's Good Bones is primarily focused on delightful mother-daughter duo Karen Laine and Mina Starsiak, there's another fan favorite on the hit show: Mina's younger brother, Tad. The hunky demolition expert is known for gamely getting his hands dirty on the various home renovation projects, with his kooky methods often questioned by everybody else. His energy is irresistible, so it's unsurprising that long-time Good Bones fans have grown to love him just as much as the ladies.

As it stands, however, Mina's brother isn't the focus of the show, and as a result we don't really know all that much about him — at least, not through Good Bones itself. But Tad has had a fascinating life and career thus far, and is more than worthy of further attention. His Instagram, hilariously called @the_demogod, showcases how many different sides the proud Indianapolis native really has to his personality. Read on to learn everything we know about Ted Starsiak.

Family is hugely important to Tad Starsiak

Born Thadeus Starsiak, the man we know as Tad on Good Bones keeps his personal life private. That's totally understandable, considering, as Reason to Dance reports, his mother died when he was just 12. According to The Cinemaholic, Tad grew up with Karen, who is something of a godmother to him, so it's not surprising that they're close. As Tad explained to HGTV, "When I was going through that rough time, every day I woke up and she was there for me. It's great having her as a teacher and as another mom."

Tad is incredibly close to Mina too (who's technically his half-sister), showing as much in an Instagram post celebrating her birthday. "I appreciate and love you dearly... We are quite different, but it doesn't make it harder to love you... I'm a better person because of you in many ways."

As for romance, the Good Bones star has been in a long-term relationship with a lady named Chrissy. Tad shared a sweet Valentine's Day post about her on Instagram, alongside several cute photos of the couple together.

Tad Starsiak is multitalented

According to Pop Culture, Tad studied at Indiana University, and was heavily involved in student athletics during his tenure there. These days, as confirmed by The Cinemaholic, Tad is the Project Manager for Two Chicks and a Hammer. He's actually been involved in demolitions since the age of 8, when he did them in a bid to earn extra money.

Tad joined Two Chicks and a Hammer originally to do demos, though he does have other hustles on the side. For example, he owns clothing company Love Heals, which is focused "on introspection and growth." Love Heals sells T-shirts and tank tops with slogans such as "Demo the Hate." The site notes, "It's about bringing awareness to something we all can support — loving ourselves and others more fully to help us heal our past traumas."

Naturally, Tad is happy to model his own stuff for his thousands of Instagram fans. He also frequently shares shots goofing around on set, and just generally being his adorable, life-affirming self.
