Amazing Race Couples Who Are Still Together

Since it debuted in 2001, The Amazing Race has captivated viewers whose own wanderlust itch is scratched by the competing teams traveling around the world. As of Season 32, that has amounted to 1 million miles of world travel! But just as captivating as the global travel are the teams on the show, especially the couples in romantic relationships.

Anyone who has ever traveled with a significant other knows that travel can test a relationship — and that's without having any puzzles, doing physically demanding tasks, and racing against both the clock and other people. According to an article written for Psychology Today by Dr. Gwendolyn Seidman, an associate professor of psychology and Albright College's psychology department chair, traveling together can be make or break a couple.

With all the added stressors of The Amazing Race, that make or break scenario is amplified and not all of the couples from the show stick together. But it isn't all bad news. Here are some Amazing Race couples who are still together.

Amazing Race stars Burnie Burns and Ashley Jenkins are still together and making moves

On Season 28 of The Amazing Race, Burnie Burns and Ashley Jenkins competed as a dating couple and proved to be stiff competition, often coming in as one of the top three couples throughout the different legs of the race before being the seventh team eliminated. Since their season aired in 2016, the couple has only gotten closer to each other. In fact, by the time their season premiered in February 2016, they were already engaged!

Burnie confirmed in a Reddit comment on Feb. 26, 2016, that he and Ashley had been engaged "for about a month" at that point. They officially tied the knot in 2019, before bringing home their baby boy in August of that year. In June 2020, Burnie announced he was leaving Rooster Teeth, the company he'd co-founded 17 years prior, according to Variety, and he was also leaving the United States with his family by his side. He said in a statement on his website, "My wife Ashley has been the satable bedrock of my life and I am overjoyed to begin this next chapter of our family's story together."

Jason Case and Amy Diaz won Amazing Race's 23rd season and a lifetime of happiness

New England couple Jason Case and Amy Diaz were dating when they appeared on the 23rd season of The Amazing Race and clearly knew what they were doing. The couple won their season, with the winning episode airing on Dec. 8, 2013. In August 2014, Amy announced the couple's engagement, followed by their wedding at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in 2015 (via People).

Since then, Amy, who was also crowned Mrs. Rhode Island in 2017, has shared countless life updates on her Instagram account, including photos of their three children: Mya, JJ, and Ally. In October 2020, Amy even shared photos from their youngest child's first birthday party, an Amazing Race-themed event, complete with themed desserts and fun for all ages.

The couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in March 2020, and they seem more in love than ever.

Amazing Race stars Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villegas are growing their family

Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villegas met on Big Brother in 2010, and they appeared together again on the next season. They went on to compete on two seasons of The Amazing Race, first as an engaged couple in Season 20 and then for all-stars in Season 24 as newlyweds. And with that much television history, what better way to celebrate your wedding than to have it air on WE Network as a wedding special?

The couple and their daughter, Adora, seem as happy as ever, taking 2020 in stride as they celebrated "Falloween" at Knott's Berry Farm in October 2020. The same month, the family revealed to People they had a baby on the way, it is a boy, and they're very excited. Brendon told the publication, "Of course we both wanted a boy, but when you become pregnant immediately before the onset of a major pandemic, all you can focus on is keeping your family safe."

The Amazing Race's Jessica Graf and Cody Nickson have gotten down to business

A couple that found love first on Big Brother before appearing on The Amazing Race was the dynamic duo Jessica Graf and Cody Nickson. They appeared together on Big Brother 19 before going on to win Season 30 of The Amazing Race thanks to some quick thinking from Jessica.

After their big Amazing Race win, Jessica and Cody tied the knot in an intimate, black-tie ceremony at the Chateau Le Dome at Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu in October 2018 (via People). Marriage hasn't slowed them down at all. Cody created Couple's Coffee Co. while Jessica launched the podcast Now What?!, often featuring her husband.

In 2019, the couple welcomed their first child together, Maverick, born four weeks early (Cody's second child, after daughter Paisley from a previous relationship, according to Entertainment Tonight). Then in October 2020, the couple welcomed their second child together, a daughter they named Carter York, before celebrating their two-year wedding anniversary, with Jessica sharing on Instagram, "I love you more now than ever before."

Amazing Race couple Whitney Duncan and Keith Tollefson have a love that hits the high notes

When Whitney Duncan and Keith Tollefson ran The Amazing Race's 25th season together, fans knew them as the bickering engaged couple who had met on Survivor, but the couple had actually postponed their wedding to appear on The Amazing Race in the first place. Keith told People, "We didn't want to change the wedding, but how often do you get an opportunity like this? We had to do it." Given the couple's storied past, including Whitney's prior secret marriage and apparent infidelity on Survivor (via People), you'd be forgiven if you thought the relationship wouldn't last — but you'd also be wrong.

In March 2020, Whitney told the Jackson Sun that her single "Homesick" hits close to home indeed. "The song is about a wife who loves to be home with her husband, and we definitely enjoy being together and spending all the time we can together," she said. Then in October 2020, Whitney posted an Instagram throwback photo of the loving couple's time on Survivor in honor of Keith's birthday. She wrote, "The Libra to my Leo — air to my fire — calm to my crazy. I've loved this man almost from the moment I laid eyes on him."

Jordan Lloyd and Jeff Schroeder of Amazing Race fame are full of surprises

If there's an Amazing Race couple who knows reality television, it has to be Jordan Lloyd and Jeff Schroeder, who appeared together on Big Brother 11 (which Jordan won) before running The Amazing Race's 16th season together as a newly dating couple. Not known to be the brightest couple in the race — Jordan infamously didn't know who Joan of Arc was — the team came in seventh.

Despite their lackluster performance, the romance still burned for the couple who then returned to Big Brother for Season 13. In a special visit to the Big Brother house in 2014, Jeff surprised Jordan by popping the question! Before tying the knot, the couple appeared on Marriage Boot Camp to work on their communication issues (via Entertainment Weekly), and it seems to have worked! The couple chronicled the lead-up to their marriage on their YouTube channel Jeff and Jordan TV, including finding out they were pregnant while wedding planning and getting married sooner than planned. Since then, the couple welcomed two children to the family, Lawson in 2016 and Layton in 2018.

But the couple isn't done with fame just yet. During the 2020 pandemic, they revived their YouTube channel after a three-year break and, just like the rest of us, are trying to balance a hectic home life.

The Amazing Race's Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich have a love that will survive

By the time Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich appeared on The Amazing Race's seventh season, they were already reality television veterans, having met on Survivor: All Stars (which Amber won after Rob proposed at the finale). During The Amazing Race, the couple's fame helped them on several legs, but they were ultimately beaten out by another team. Just weeks after coming in second on The Amazing Race as an engaged couple, CBS aired their wedding in a televised special, fitting for a couple whose love blossomed on television.

The pair returned to The Amazing Race for the All-Stars season as newlyweds in 2007, but were eliminated in the fourth episode (via IGN). Despite the early elimination, both the couple's television fame and relationship continued to grow. Rob appeared on Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains and Survivor: Redemption Island, but Amber focused at the time on giving birth to their four daughtersLucia, Carina, Isabetta, and Adelina

But television is practically part of being a Mariano these days, and both Rob and Amber returned for Survivor: Winners at War in 2020, solidifying them as one of the most famous reality television couples of all time.

Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo of Amazing Race fame won't let anything stop them

While love blossoms for some reality television couples while filming, sometimes it isn't until after the cameras stop rolling that everything aligns. Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo competed against each other on Big Brother's 18th season, but according to Screenrant, it wasn't until after the show that the two started dating and ultimately got engaged. It was then that they appeared on The Amazing Race's 31st season in a strong outing that got them all the way to fourth place (via Parade), despite some bad blood with other competitors that dissolved their alliances.

In February 2020, Nicole announced on Instagram that she and Victor were getting married on Oct. 3, 2020, but like so many people planning a wedding during 2020, Nicole and Victor had to adjust (and readjust) their plans due to the pandemic. While their wedding planning may have been filled with a lot of questions and doubts, the couple's TV staying power certainly isn't. Notably, Nicole also appeared on the 2020 season of Big Brother: All Stars.

Amazing Race couple Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge are building an empire

When Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge appeared on Season 21 of The Amazing Race in 2012, they were already known as the Beekman Boys thanks to their show The Fabulous Beekman Boys, for which the couple learned to be goat farmers and launched their brand Beekman 1802. The couple struggled throughout the show, never winning a challenge and even coming in last during one leg of the race, but lucky for them, it was a non-elimination leg. Even luckier, once they finally won a leg, it was the big one, as noted by The Hollywood Reporter. The couple finished first, winning the grand prize, which they used to pay off the mortgage on their farm.

After being crowned the winners of The Amazing Race, the two officially tied the knot in 2013, and both their love and business empire have only grown. In August 2020, Josh and Brent appeared on the I Love My Wife podcast for a second time, discussing their farmhouse renovation, new CBD skincare line, and their sanity during the 2020 pandemic, joking, "We finished Netflix." See? Even ultra-successful couples need a little Netflix.

After The Amazing Race, Ernie Halvorsen and Cindy Chiang became proud parents

For most of their time on Season 19 of The Amazing Race, engaged couple Ernie Halvorsen and Cindy Chiang were lagging behind pro snowboarders Andy Finch and Tommy Czeschin, but when it came to the finale, Ernie and Cindy dominated the competition, winning the whole shebang

After their big win, Ernie and Cindy got married in 2012 (via People), and have since had two sons, Maverick and Ernest (whom they call Finn) and are expecting a third, due in January 2021

The proud parents are clearly more in love than ever. On their eighth wedding anniversary, Cindy posted on Instagram, "I'd say 'I Do' a million times over. Love you beyond the outer limits of space. You are the best husband and dad to infinity and beyond." Though their outing on The Amazing Race may feel like "a lifetime ... ago" to Cindy, it's obvious this couple's love has a lifetime to go.

The Amazing Race stars Justin Scheman and Diana Bishop are lucky in love

Justin Scheman and Diana Bishop were huge fans of The Amazing Race long before they entered the competition. Justin even staged a fake Amazing Race competition to propose to Diana (via HuffPost). So when they were cast on Season 27 of The Amazing Race, it was a dream come true for the engaged couple, who went on to finish second in the competition.

Just over a year after their season of Amazing Race aired, the couple got married at the Villa Del Mar in Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic. In June 2018, they announced on Facebook that they were expecting their first child. They welcomed their son, Charlie, in December 2018.

Justin and Diana often post about their family on social media, and in October 2020, they revealed they'd been keeping a big secret: The couple is expecting a second child due in February 2021! Just two days after the announcement, Justin posted a photo of Diana and asked, "How did I get so lucky!" Aw!

It's all good news for The Amazing Race couple Kelsey Gerckens and Joey Buttitta

When news anchors Kelsey Gerckens and Joey Buttitta were cast on The Amazing Race's Season 27, they proved that dating your co-worker isn't always a bad idea. Perhaps knowing each other so intimately is what helped the couple stay strong week after week in the race, ultimately pulling ahead for the win. After their winning episode of The Amazing Race aired in December 2015, Joey asked Kelsey to marry him in a surprise proposal while filming a segment for Hallmark Channel's Home & Family, and the couple married in August 2017.

While much of the next couple of years were filled with more travel and their Goldendoodle Jeter, in February 2019, Kelsey announced on Instagram that they was expecting. They welcomed a son, Everett, on Aug. 15, 2019, and their love has only continued to grow since. On their third anniversary in August 2020, Joey posted on Instagram, "Three years and a lifetime to go. I love you, our life together and our family." Kelsey also posted in honor of the special day, sharing, "Walking through life with you is the best decision I ever made! You are my everything and I love you so much and the life and family we have created together."

Mike Dombrowski and Rochelle Nevedal are living their dreams since being on The Amazing Race

When they were cast on The Amazing Race's 26th season, Mike Dombrowski and Rochelle Nevedal had only been dating for eight months. In fact, according to Rochelle's profile for the show, part of her reason for going on the show with Mike was to see if the relationship would last. Although the couple only made it to fourth place on the show, thanks to a series of cab issues, their relationship was built to last.

Shortly after the show aired in early 2015, Mike revealed in an interview with the Traverse City Record Eagle that he moved in with Rochelle and her son. Rochelle and Mike got married on Sept. 2, 2017, in a ceremony officiated by '90s Nickelodeon icon Lori Beth Denberg. If Rochelle's Instagram feed is any indication, the couple's life is filled with family time, Rochelle's business, their pups, and lots of love. She posted a photo in October 2020 of the flowers Mike sent to her at work, writing, "Got to work this afternoon to find these waiting for me. The sweetest. Love you."

The Amazing Race stars Colin Guinn and Christie Woods are partners for life

There are famous reality television stars and there are infamous ones. After their first appearance on The Amazing Race in Season 5, Colin Guinn and Christie Woods fell into the latter category. The couple was a bit intense, to put it mildly, with Entertainment Weekly later noting they "gave off a very negative toxic energy."

But by the time they reappeared on the 31st season of The Amazing Race, the life partners had apparently turned a new leaf. The couple posted on their website, "Deciding to go back on the race required some authentic reflection into how strong our relationship had truly become...and ultimately gave us a chance to test the resilience of our bond." That reflection and a more zen energy led the couple all the way to the end, winning the season (via Us Weekly).

Despite getting engaged in 2004, the couple never actually married. Christie explained in an interview with Reality TV World, "I'm not a big fan of the institution of marriage and just energetically what that sort of represents." Instead, the life partners, who have two sons, are perfectly happy where they are.
